Wrote a few horror movies with names like HALLOW'S END and CANNIBAL TABOO (if you've seen either all the way through, I commend you). Pro-humanity, Anti-theist, Anti-centrist. I have a cat. Enough already.

Or anybody, really. Get in my face with your condescending high-and-mightiness and I will block you faster than a hummingbird's heartbeat.

I just have zero time or patience for lectures from overly pious "allies."
Screenshot of a Bluesky conversation between users Chris B (@burchris.bsky.social) and cwfttd.bsky.social. Chris jokes that Facebook suggests adding people who previously unfriended him. cwfttd replies that nobody should use Facebook, and when Chris explains he stays for the people and engagement, cwfttd accuses him of supporting Zuckerberg. Chris responds bluntly, “Wow, somebody’s fucking self-righteous.”

In Portland, an ambulance was summoned to the
ICE office to treat an injured protester (not clear
how he was injured). But when the patient was
loaded inside, ICE officers refused to let the
ambulance leave and threatened to shoot the
ambulance driver:

This is all the history I need.
A large statue of Bullwinkle J. Moose and Rocky the Flying Squirrel from The Bullwinkle Show. Bullwinkle stands on one leg wearing a red-and-white striped swimsuit, balancing Rocky on his raised hand. The display sits on a blue platform labeled “The Bullwinkle Show,” and is brightly lit in a museum-like setting.

I want to apologize to all the influencers out there. It turns out I was wrong. You're not the most irritating people on the internet.

That would be Twitch streamers.

The only phone numbers I know by heart anymore:

- mine
- my wife’s
- my landline number from when I first moved to LA
- my childhood home
- a Philadelphia community helpline that advertised on local TV with the jingle “CALL for ACT-ION! GREENwood SEVen five THREE one TWO!”

America is imperfect, but foreign leaders did not use to assume that the President's family was a key means of leveraging their shared interest in corruption.

Trump's conversation with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is caught on a hot mic. Hard to tell exactly what they are talking about, but Subianto asks Trump about meeting Eric Trump and Don Jr, who supposedly have nothing to do with government while they run the family business.

TIL that our Founding Fathers started promoting him because they were looking for an origin myth with a hero who wasn’t tied to England (like Cabot or Hudson). Columbus fit the bill since genocide and slavery weren’t disqualifying back then. Hence „District of Columbia“, „Columbus, Ohio“, etc.

I don't get the determination to make Columbus relevant to US history. He never set foot on US soil. He "discovered" a place where millions of people lived and vikings and Irish fishermen knew about. He thought he visited India until his deathbed. His contemporaries considered him a violent weirdo.

The only thing that changed with this peace deal is that European countries were recognizing a Palestinian state.

All Trump did is throw Israel a lifeline. His peace plan could have been a napkin with 'Peace!' written on it.

Europe needs to keep up the pressure on Israel for peaceful change.

Hamas was already agreeing to deals. Israel was rejecting them.

It would be a mistake to attribute this to anything other than international pressure when that was the independent variable.

Protesting works. Protests all over the world were pressuring governments to change their stance on Gaza.
Hamas has offered a ceasefire deal. Here’s why that won’t bring an immediate end to the war in Gaza | CNN
Hamas’ announcement was initially met with jubilation in Gaza and cautious optimism by regional leaders after it was presented as an acceptance of an Israeli proposal. But Israel issued what looked li...

Egypt has extremely strict gun control laws. Civilians are only permitted to own handguns -- no rifles or shotguns -- and only if they can prove they need the weapon for a specific purpose. Background checks for licensing are extensive and include vetting of family members and psych evaluations.

Collaborative? Mmmmmm... not my cup of tea. When tinkering with the FATE system, it's the first thing I jettison.

I do love seeing all the pumkin ptaches this time of year.
Split-screen thumbnail for a vlog titled “My First Half Marathon: Pumpkin Patch to Finish Line.” The left side shows a woman in fall attire holding a small dog at a pumpkin patch, surrounded by crates of pumpkins. The right side shows the same woman, identified as Anna, smiling triumphantly at a city marathon finish line with the Cologne Cathedral visible in the background. “Pumpkin Patch" is misspelled in the text as "P-U-M-K-I-N P-T-A-C-H."

He's terrified that ICE is going to hear him speaking Siamese and try to deport him.
Snowball, a brown-and-white cat with Siamese-like markings and vivid blue eyes, lounges confidently on a multicolored stone patio. His belly is looking especially big from this angle, in a way that makes his legs look short and stubby. He’s wearing a black harness and leash.

"You obviously used them very well."

Guardian headline: "Young lives cut short on an unimaginable scale: the 18,457 children on Gaza’s list of war dead"

The children’s names below appear on a list of victims of Israel’s offensive in Gaza, maintained by health authorities in the territory. As of the end of July it ran to 60,199 names, of whom 18,457 were under 18s. Far from comprehensive, the list does not include the thousands still buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings, as well as the war’s many indirect victims"
