I've not worn 17th or 18th c fashion, but hoops are not the worst to wear. Your corset and hip pads (bum roll) take much of the weight. Learning exactly how to bend and where you can bend are the "hard" parts.
Remember, women who wore these would also have servants to hold a chamber pot for them. :)
