Making people afraid to be affiliated with antifascism—making people afraid to be associated with groups and people that actively oppose fascism—is some bleak shit.

Salvation Army seen feeding ICE today. For anyone who doesn't already know about their bigotry, here is more, No need to give them your money this Christmas, or ever.

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

Sex ed for young children focuses on teaching kids what touching is inappropriate and what to do about it, which *fights* child sex abuse. LGBTQ+ inclusion fights bullying.

These bigots call it "grooming" to teach kids to not bully and to report sexual abuse.

That's what's really sick.

One of the nastiest things from these nasty pieces of work has been the lie that kidlit creatives, teachers & librarians are somehow grooming kids.

Statistically, a parent, guardian, or other relative is more likely to be the perpetrator: www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/media-room/n...

I rarely read King because I am a huge, scaredy cat when it comes to horror books, and he makes me look over my shoulder. But I love the Dark Tower books, which I view as some great writing about addiction. I haven't seen the movie on purpose.

This is incredibly powerful and resonant language, to the point of creating genuine emotional religious response in me (a Jewish person).

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

According to Jaron Lanier (one of the big minds behind virtual reality), many of Silicon Valley's wealthy already fled to New Zealand and went into hiding back when COVID broke out.

So this seems to be their plan for the next big outbreak of whatever, as well.

(source: www.gq.com/story/jaron-...)
A screenshot from the linked interview:

The pandemic had only complicated his relationship with his peers, he said. Many people in Silicon Valley were fleeing, to panic bunkers and second homes and survival compounds in New Zealand. Some of them were even inviting Lanier along. “A few people have called me from time to time and said, ‘Hey, you have to get in on our New Zealand thing,’ ” Lanier confided. “I'm like, ‘No.…’ I just feel like, if we can fuck it up here, why can't we fuck up New Zealand? What's better about New Zealand than here? It's even riskier for earthquakes, so the only thing about it that's inviting is we haven't fucked it up yet. This idea that you can fuck up the world, but then there'll be some part of it that you haven't fucked up, is wrong. If you fuck up the world, you fuck up the whole world, you know?”

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

Important piece by Prof. Kate Andrias. This is why treating SCOTUS as the only word on the Constitution gives away our power as citizens.

As I frequently say “we are founders and framers” of the next iteration of democracy in this country.

Remember that all of this is in defense of a detention center where people are being held in horrible conditions after being kidnapped off the street for no reason.

Again today, local police outside Broadview just aggressively arrested more protesters. Tough to tell exactly how many, but looks like 3-4 people were just detained.

They aren’t afraid of “ANTIFA.”

They’re afraid of accountability, of people who document what they do, and of a public that can still recognize fascism when it sees it.
