Truth sometimes comes from our enemies despite their dishonourable motives. Meanwhile, our own ‘tribe’ can fool itself into believing absurdities. The Left and progressives damage their credibility every time they reject the former and succumb to the latter.

Allies and soulmates of Trump may well become the next UK government. This why special needs parents plead with Labour ministers: do not take our hard-won rights away, from us or families who might face this in the future

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

Everything he's reported to have said in this BBC piece sounds like he's desperately trying to distance himself, knowing that the connection is real and toxic. If the press were investigating Farage with the same enthusiasm they went for Rayner, he'd be done for.

The conventions of political reporting today are not well equipped to handle this concerted use of pretexts for instrumental purposes and the bottomless bad faith they employ. Grasping the industrial-scale deception at the core of MAGA politics is essential. 6/

The BMA is a Trades Union not a scientific organisation and has faced significant challenges and allegations of bias, including sexism, racism, and politicisation. You are cherry picking to confirm your bias.

It is time Russian/ oligarch/ Israeli influence in British politics is properly investigated. Reform’s obvious links (Arron Banks?), Conservative Friends of Russia (not exactly hiding in plain sight), Johnson’s tennis, Labour Friends of Israel, the list goes on and on

This is just silly. Some words are ill defined or have no consensus about meaning or the meaning has changed over time e.g. 'woke'. Other words have broad consensus sometimes including fixed scientific and/or legal definitions e.g. woman. (See recent Supreme Court confirmation)

Limited liability is one of our weird silences. It's a massive free gift society makes to plutocrats, seldom remarked upon, let alone contested.
Shareholders should have to buy limited liability, like any other insurance. The insurers would then be liable. 🧵

In what way is the right to protection from discrimination based on sex not equal between men and women? In practice it is usually women who need the protection but that doesn't make the right unequal.

This is a timely, excellent and important report on how "arms length" bodies in UK are vulnerable to political manipulation.

The UK’s independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Today our report is published!

But this is disgusting. People aren't interested in an elected representative pleading guilty to taking bribes from Russia. Really?🤔
