The is no going back to “normal” for them. They are now living in a rubble ridden hellscape while the western world moves on, pretending it didn’t fund and approve this.

This will never cease to be on my mind, probably for the rest of my life. Agriculture & soil/water safety will be impacted by this for generations after. It will take generations to repair the damage and ecocide committed here. And now Netanyahu is saying he’s limiting supply trucks?

I think what's bothering me about all these statements I'm seeing from politicians that are variations of "Israeli hostages and Palestinians are returning to their homes, yay" is that Israelis are returning to their homes and Palestinians are returning to uninhabitable post apocalyptic rubble.

fwiw I think it’s a Russian coup against uk and us. I think Putin’s owned farage spaffer & trump for decades. Seems like he had kompromat on every uk pm since hameron and SirKeir no different.

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
