Thanks for following me. I will mainly use this account to promote discussion & awareness of cycling safety, active transport, progressive urbanism and action on climate change, But I will also post or repost things that interest me.

I will also promote my books; many will be free ePDFs.

Great listening, Ronni.
Further to the NACC - a friend joined NACC in a senior capacity as it was being stood up - and resigned barely 6 months lately. A discrete person, they only (tersely) said the job was "not as advertised".
Clearly, we need to gut the bloody thing, and start again.

I glad to see the possibility of a bicycle friendly Mayor of NYC.

Rudy Giuliani (who started Vision Zero), Michael Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio and Eric Adams did little to bring down bicyclist deaths.

My daughter Robyn made a special trip to get their helmet, it did not save their life!

“In a city once choked with cars and infamous for its traffic snarls, Paris has pulled off a remarkable turnaround…the French capital has officially become Europe’s best city for children to walk, cycle, and move around independently.” Via @momentummag.bsky.social

A victory for FAST leadership.

"Make cities safe and fun for kids to run around and play in" is a pretty good guiding light for urban planning

The difference between how this officer speaks to the cyclist, versus how he speaks to the driver is unacceptable.

An easy way to invade Canada via a proxy.

Yes. But I still want to see him bomb Greenland.

Just for the entertainment value.

LOL.

In one hour's time, either the bottomless pit of Trump's need for approval will have its biggest fillup in its wretched history, or Norway's going to need to rapidly develop anti-missile capacity.

Does he think Greenland is part of Norway? not Denmark?

Oops. Silly question.

Netanyahu's mouthpiece, Amit Segal, casually admits on Twitter that his country has been holding 1,700 people from Gaza hostage, including children.
Among other things, according to the decision:

- 250 security prisoners will be released.
- 1,700 residents of the Gaza Strip who were not involved in the events of October 7 and were arrested after the massacre will be released.
- 22 minors under the age of 18, residents of the Gaza Strip who were not involved in the events of October 7 and were arrested after the massacre, will be released.
- 360 bodies of terrorists will be returned.

The western media always refers to “the hostages” as those held by Hamas.

Apparently they are too lazy to access the readily available evidence,
or so imbued with an attitude of dehumanising and ignoring Palestinians (aka racism),
that they rarely mention the hundreds of hostages held by Israel.

While we’re there, the medical benefits of circumcision are BIGLY exaggerated.

Just ask almost any European or other non-American male, or their partners.

Another question:

If I report AFP officers to NACC, am I “eroding our country’s social fabric”?

Because I have done that already.

A question for the AFP:

If I post, online, material that “humiliates” a Federal MP, am I going to be investigated for terrorism?

I’m an advocate for safer roads. Is my advocacy going to “erode our country’s social fabric”?

Is calling for all drivers to have proper insurance anti-social fabric?

“Commissioner Krissy Barrett said the AFP had … blah blah … foster an environment for violent extremism or terrorism.

“There are current & emerging groups … eroding our country’s social fabric by advocating hatred, fear, and humiliation,” Commissioner Barrett said.

The BBC still furiously peddling the fiction that Trump "railroaded" Netanyahu into a peace deal.

No, the US could have secured a deal any time over the past two years by ending the shipments of bombs.

Washington *chose* to keep the genocide going till Gaza was levelled.
