I was born at a very early age and now I'm here. Some things happened in between, but they're probably not important.

Outstanding use of Letraset on the poster!

The great Viz letter. Someone said “in this song, Brian Harvey sings ‘the very first time that I saw your brown eyes’, but he’s singing to Gabrielle, who wears an eye patch. Therefore, he should sing ‘the very first time that I saw your brown eye’, which is a totally different proposition”.

Come to see Edward Woodward in Panto! Stay to see Derek Nimmo beating the crap out of Bill Maynard!

"The World of Victoria Beckham, out now on Music For Pleasure..."
It could only have been more embarrassing if she'd signed to K-Tel.
I remember Victoria Beckham's album failing hard was the final straw that killed off 1980s cheap-compilation merchants Telstar Records.

I could watch Boris Johnson getting grilled at the Covid enquiry but it would mean a) looking at his stupid face and b) hearing rage-inducing things coming out of his gob, so I'll let braver people than me report back.

"Can you to give the court your full name"

"Yes, I'm Boris Johnson"

Can't even manage four words with incompetent lying.
There's no way our road system is built for these stupid things. I've only got a Beetle and that struggles with the narrow turns at one of the nearby car parks, so although you can see over mountains in the driver's seat of a car like this it must also be limiting as far as where you can go.
It was, but these boys are no M|A|R|R|S. For one thing, they were probably still talking to ech other.
I know it's not very important in the grand scheme of things, but I've really taken a liking to Gingerbread Pepsi. I can't stand normal Pepsi, but this stuff is ruddy brilliant. I might have to see about stocking up before it inevitably goes off the shelves just before Christmas, it's that good.
"Pump up the volume"? Really?

"Get busy yo!"? REALLY?

Might as well have added "We're hip to the jive, daddio" and have done with it.

To this day, whenever I hear the South Bank Show theme my brain goes briefly into "sorry pal, that's the weekend done" mode.

what the fuck are you talking about, she made a whole community of friends online and was stabbed to death by two of her classmates
Meeting yesterday with Brianna Ghey's mother Esther - and pupils at Brianna's former school - was a powerful reminder of why controls on social media and smartphone use in schools is so important for children, teachers and parents. (1/2)
Luckily it's Mon-Fri / Mon-Thur rather than 9 in a row, but yeah, Thursdays definitely feel different depending on whether I'm working Fridays.
I work 9-day fortnights, so alternate Thursdays would probably have a slightly warmer colour due to their proximity to the weekend... blimey, that question really is a rabbit hole, isn't it?
I used to love reading questions like that when I read Smash Hits because they forced the pop stars being interviewed to deviate from the prepared script and say something interesting. SH used to ask questions like "What colour is a Thursday?"

Can’t say with 100% certainty, but I believe Manfred Mann are the earliest rock band whose members (either original or classic lineup) are still all alive.

oh that Labour quote can fuck right off
“We welcome those who come to this country, legally, and give more than they take. We believe the right to stay here must not be automatic, but that those who play their part should be able to earn that right."
