All sorts of "regular" Americans use this defense when their bigotry is called out. Or even the bigotry of others: "How can you say it's racist when you don't know their intention." It's ubiquitous.

And many journalists this rationale to avoid the word "racism."

"Intention" is the go-to defense of racism. Since we can't easily know what's in someone's mind, they can be as racist as they want as long as they say that's not their intention.

If a random guy in a mask grabbed someone and threw them in a vehicle—we'd call that a kidnapping. Until an alleged ICE agent identifies themselves, that's what this is.

For all we know they're a rapist murderer stalker looking for their next victim. Indefensible. Dem leadership must act NOW.

ICE targeted an apartment building near my home. Masked agents in unmarked cars. I've said this before. Democratic Governors & Mayors need to order their local police depts to arrest any & all unidentified & masked alleged ICE agents.

This anonymous denial of due process is deadly.

This is a complete failure to read the room. It is incompetent. It is political malpractice. The DSCC has clearly learned nothing, and they would rather deploy the same tired, divisive strategies instead of empowering Democratic voters and earning our confidence in their process.

I've got such a warm spot for Baruch College considering I never went there. Like the campus vibe, considered apply for grad school but the program wasn't quite what I wanted.

I think we had some interns from there too.

And now it's on the list for high schools for my boy.
