Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/

Yes. Even the Government is prepared to place on record that it is not cost effective to pursue civil litigation for under $60,000 in the District Court, and twice that is probably more realistic if there's any litigation risk. And the registry/hearing time situation is dire.

I think this is a pleasantly chill approach to take to the embarrassment of having this man at 8th in the line of succession to be our head of state. Essentially: PM says, I don't think about him, if his dad asked us to sort it out we probably would, but really not worth thinking about.

Understood. I do find however that incitement to suicide is an easy one for them to understand, and it has a special crimes act provision so hard for them to brush off.

This govt has seen that nobody (not schools, not opposition parties, not enough parents or teachers) have put up strong/effective pushback about sending sick kids to school with Covid, influenza, RSV circulating.

That widespread complacency has led New Zealand directly to this measles situation.

There has been widespread support for prominent Reform MP
Sarah Pochin after she complained about the over-representation of minorities on television.
Said one angry viewer, "She's right. Every time you turn on the telly there's another Reform MP being interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg."

At Wellington Hospital with a suspected measles case and the ED department is absolutely packed.

Patients in beds all along the corridors in every possible space. Last time I came a few years ago there was no one at all outside rooms?!
