Baby Edgar & baby Oisín for you, in case you missed them. I fell for Edgar's ferocious glare & Oisín's "well, that's another fine mess you've gotten me into" face right away.

Dear Elected Democrats,

Trump allies will say this about you NO MATTER HOW OFTEN AND HOW VIGOROUSLY YOU THROW TRANS PEOPLE UNDER THE BUS. You can LITERALLY only WIN THIS ARGUMENT ON THE MERITS or CHANGE THE SUBJECT.

MOVING RIGHT ON IT IS ONLY GOING TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE YOU THINK HE HAS A POINT

Trump just posted this video claiming that Democrats are the party of “Transgender for everybody.”

A still frame from a video (originally posted by MAGA Voice) that features old-school televisions with the trans flag and menacing text that reads TRANSGENDER FOR EVERYONE

Not at all surprised to find TikTok covering up egregious behaviour. A little surprised that their rationale is "reality hurts. Don't do a reality in your feed. Stop it. Down boy."

Time for TikTok users to flood it with happy protestors in animal costumes dancing in front of heavily armed fascists.

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

I know this case is all over - & it should be - but Turning Point USA has waged a harassment campaign against faculty for more than a decade. I know of at least a half dozen other faculty, personally, who have received death threats and several of those who felt so unsafe they too left their homes

Are we great yet?

Mark Bray, a Rutgers University professor and expert on anti-fascist groups, is fleeing to Spain with his family due to death threats that stem from a campaign by Turning Point USA and other conservative groups to get him fired, falsely labeling him as an antifa member.
Antifa expert at Rutgers University says he is moving to Spain because of death threats
An expert on anti-fascist groups who teaches at New Jersey’s flagship state university is moving his family overseas.

I like how the news will be like “while the President claiming Portland was ruled by a giant skeleton named Mr Nibbles is not strictly true, it does speak to the anxiety of many Americans”

I'm told that nephew (9) attempted pickpocketing his parents under the influence of a book I got him...so nothing can go wrong if I get him another book featuring a young pickpocket, right? I mean, it's not like I'm introducing him to arson or whatever

“Concerns over an AI bubble bursting have grown lately, with analysts recently finding that it’s 17 times the size of the dotcom-era bubble and four times bigger than the 2008 financial crisis.”

Hang onto your butts. This “correction” is gonna hurt.

Weekend reading! Refreshing myself with 4 cozy fun reads in a row 😊 finished the lovely Claws & Contrivances by Stephanie Burgis at lunch. Looking forward to more Regency fun with The Ladies Road to Utter Ruin by Alison Goodman & Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall #BookSky #AmReading
Synopsis to The Ladies Road to Utter Ruin by Alison Goodman: To most of Regency high society, forty-two-year-old Lady Augusta Colebrook, or Gus, and her twin sister, Julia, are just unmarried ladies of a certain age. But the Colebrook twins are far from useless old maids. They are secretly protecting women and children ignored by society and the law.

When Lord Evan—a charming escaped convict who has won Gus’s heart—needs to hide his sister, Hester, from their vindictive brother, Gus and Julia take Hester and her lover into their home. But Lord Evan’s complicated past puts them all in danger. Gus knows they must clear his name of murder if he is to survive the thieftakers who hunt him. No easy task—the fatal duel was twenty years ago and a key witness is nowhere to be found.

In a deadly cat-and-mouse game, Gus, Julia, and Lord Evan must dodge their pursuers and investigate Lord Evan’s past. They will be thrust into the ugly underworld of Georgian gentlemen’s clubs, spies, and ruthless bounty hunters, not to mention the everyday threat of narrow-minded brothers. Will the truth be found in time, or will dangerous secrets from the past destroy family bonds and rip new love and lives apart? Synopsis to Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall:
A young noblewoman must pair up with a rumoured witch to ward off a curse.

It is the year 1814 and life for a young lady of good breeding has many difficulties. There are balls to attend, fashions to follow, marriages to consider and, of course, the tiny complication of existing in a world swarming with fairy spirits, interfering deities, and actual straight-up sorcerers.

Miss Maelys Mitchelmore finds her entry into high society hindered by an irritating curse. It begins innocuously enough with her dress slowly unmaking itself over the course of an evening at a high-profile ball, a scandal she narrowly manages to escape.

However, as the curse progresses to more fatal proportions, Miss Mitchelmore must seek out aid, even if it means mixing with undesirable company. And there are few less desirable than Lady Georgianna Landrake—a brooding, alluring young woman sardonically nicknamed “the Duke of Annadale”—who may or may not have murdered her own father and brothers to inherit their fortune. If one is to believe the gossip, she might be some kind of malign enchantress. Then again, a malign enchantress might be exactly what Miss Mitchelmore needs.

With the Duke’s help, Miss Mitchelmore delves into a world of angry gods and vindictive magic, keen to unmask the perpetrator of these otherworldly attacks. But Miss Mitchelmore’s reputation is not the only thing at risk in spending time with her new ally. For the rumoured witch has her own secrets that may prove dangerous to Miss Mitchelmore’s heart—not to mention her life.
