At this point in 2025 given the 10 months we’ve seen of what “end DEI” in the US has really been about, you’re just a racist if you want “merit” restored

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

"Canadians put a lot more emphasis on service frequency. The US is still playing around with 15- and 30-minute frequencies for a lot of bus routes and even some rail service. ... We have a ton of routes where buses are running every three or four minutes. You’d find the same in Toronto or Montreal."

Guess what? Key to Vancouver's transit recovery was not raising fares and cutting the service.

"I would emphasize frequency. Running the bus every 30 minutes isn’t going to cut it if you want to grow ridership. With 30-minute service, if one bus doesn’t show up it’s now 60-minute service."

And the even bigger problem with a pipeline is the emissions that it will enable and create.
It would be a massive waste of money. #strandedAssests

B.C. Premier David Eby is clearly beyond frustrated with Danielle Smith's pipeline dreams threatening the B.C. economy.

In a fiery statement, he called her out directly stating...

"This is not the Danielle Smith show!"

Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are to be sentenced today for their illegal activities with the Freedom Convoy. That Pierre Poilievre and some Conservative MPs support these lawless assholes speaks volumes.

Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad. Stop believing I wanna see it or that I'll understand, I don't and I won't. If you're just trying to troll me, I've seen way worse, i'll restrict and move on. But please, if you've got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It's dumb, it's a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it's NOT what he'd want.
To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to 'this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that's enough,
, just so
other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You're not making art, you're making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else's throat hoping they'll give you a little thumbs up and like it.
Gross. And for the love of EVERYTHING, stop calling it 'the future. Al is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be reconsumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume.

Pledged to plant a million trees, but that’s not in the budget either.

As aspirational as the goal is, if it’s not in the budget it’s not there. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

What’s Trump on the Reich-ter scale?
A mock newspaper headline reads "BREAKING NEWS" from "ReallyGreatSite.com," dated Sunday, December 20, 2055. The main headline states "PRESIDENT TRUMP EXPECTED TO RENAME SAN ANDREAS FAULT TO JOE BIDENS FAULT." Below the headline is an image of a visible fault line in a landscape, showing a rugged, cracked terrain.

🧵- Councillor Brown is suggesting a switch to private transit in rural areas, saying that they aren't getting enough in return for their tax dollars.

Rural residents absolutely deserve better transit, but his arguments are pretty misleading when you look at the facts. ⤵️

This councillor says OC Transpo is failing his rural ward. Could private buses be the answer? | CBC News
Rural residents of Ottawa aren't adequately served by OC Transpo, and privatized transit may be the way to bridge the gap, according to Rideau-Jock Coun. David Brown.
