Mike Locksley should be the GM of Maryland football in an ideal world. Obviously we don't live in one. And man... the idea that James Franklin could end up coming to Maryland after all of *gestures at everything*... they'll end up probably going to Bob Chesney instead.

Michigan State won the B1G and made the playoff 10 years ago and Maryland hasn't won more than seven regular season games since I was in high school. All suffering is legitimate but some suffer far more than others.

And still found a way to painfully lose a game they should have won. I guess that's better than being non-competitive but man alive. There is nothing in sports more painful than rooting for Maryland football.

Some personal news: today is my final day at The Athletic, ending a 6+ year tenure on its staff.
