I'm good at bird identification and I'm like 99% sure this is a Steller's Jay.

I never understand folks who complain abt how OTHER ppl protest. If you don’t like protesters to cuss or where frog suits, why don’t YOU go protest wearing a tuxedo and reciting the Magna Carta? No one’s stopping you, least of all the frogman, who will likely leap for joy for your involvement

It startles them at first but they get used to it. I always say "hello crow" 😂
mightbekaren.bsky.social
They may become uncomfortable when they notice you looking! But it's important that they notice you and see when you leave them a peanut.
mightbekaren.bsky.social
Over time you'll get to observe their behavior, learn their personality, see their little family group. They're such cool birds. It's nice to know them, nice to be known by them.
mightbekaren.bsky.social
Eventually they'll tolerate you being closer to them. They'll probably start to follow you too. Don't be surprised if they swoop around you or bop your head with their feet. They just want to get your attention.

They don't need your treat peanuts to survive, so don't give a lot of them.

I do! They have their little territories. Show up where they show up, get to know the same crow. I do this on my neighborhood walks. Stare at them. They know they're being looked at. Give a little peanut (unsalted). Walk away. Observe from afar that they take it. Show up again on another day, repeat

This extremely handsome crow visited me today. Crow is not humble, nor should they be. 🪶

I'll work on getting the masks from my friend and then we can plan a day to meet!

One of the crazy things about the AI bubble bursting is that consumer sentiment toward AI has always leaned skeptical to outright negative but it’s an industry propped up by pure billionaire greed, sycophancy, and childish fantasy

I once heard someone say Puget like "Pudge-it" and I nearly died.

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

If you are willing to throw away entire groups of people to protect your insular strategy that will only protect you instead of protecting everyone then I don’t want your leaders and I sure as hell don’t want to be associated with you.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

Y'all who keep lecturing protesters to "not give them an excuse" need to pause for a minute. Imagine yourself telling a DV victim, "Be sure not to mouth off or make any mistakes so he won't hit you. Don't give him an excuse! It's what he wants!" That's what you fools sound like.

No social media space since the invention of the smart phone is a haven. They're labs for commerce. Go hang out in your friend's shitty apartment.
