That sounds like the chant is 'fascist' go home. That's what I hear anyway. Either works I guess.

Great run-down of the mutual obligations system — both it's current unlawful administration, and it's rotten ideological underpinnings that destroys lives — by @amyremeikis.bsky.social here: www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...

As Australia begins to mirror America’s erosion of responsible freedom, with militarised policing, corporate capture, and shrinking space for dissent, citizens must stay alert. If we remain silent, we risk inheriting the same divisions, injustices, and state overreach that plague the U.S.

This is nauseating hagiography in real time. Remember the surf life saving double spreads of Abbott after he knifed Nelson by one vote and then again in 2010? It may not have been Hartcher but it was Fairfax as much as Newscorp. They cannot help but be players rather than witnesses.

I'm actually quite moved at your reflective sentimentality. It's nice to have solid civic events as a party of our identity. It's a binding force and something to be shared. The grand final(s), grand slams, ANZAC, Archibald's etc make us culturally richer (Bellah, 1960)

Thank fuck. I mean, good Sudo. Yes, quite.

Wait. I just realised you might not be making the Linux joke I thought you were.

You'll have to look it up if not, and congratulate me if you were. My jokes are the best jokes. You had to be there. Honestly

Thanks for the link! This is all pretty damning and I'm so pleased the senate had led this inquiry process with solid recommendations. It's painful it's been this long in coming however. All of these revelations have been aired ad nauseum by those inside. Hope this results in needed change
The senators' report
acknowledges pockets of good
practice across the sector. Its
conclusions overall, however, are
vithering: "This inquiry Ias
xposed what lies beneath the tip
of the governance failure iceberg-
overpaid and arrogant
management and their largesse,
paque, unaccountable, and top-
down decision-making, and
governance bodies stacked with
corporate appointees.

The inquiry is now calling for
sweeping changes
to both the
structure and operations of
university councils. The politics of
his will not necessarily be
traightforward. This is because

🪑 Armchair activists, assemble! 😜

We need YOU to sign our petition to the Port to stop coal ships during the Blockade.

The Port calls itself “a global leader in sustainability” — let's pressure them to live up to that claim.

The messenger somewhat dilutes the message.

Sure, we've been doing truly heinous stuff to innocent people whilst destroying democracy for decades, but these vampires over here are stealing our advertising money!!!!!

This is more serious than at first glance. Since when can affected individuals not provide govt agencies with hectares of personal data? For that to be farmed out to private sector without guards against abuse destroys trust. Trust in govt agencies ability to help

Breach? Sounds like people gave their data to the government on a promise of disaster support, the government gave their data and our money to a contractor on a promise of service provision, and the contractor gave their data to a tech business on a promise of slop.
