Typos aside, there is simply no such thing.

ECGs are not an indicator of age.

They literally do not contain that information, either directly or indirectly.

This is just made up gobbledygook.

So, my question is: why?

I taught Constitutional Law during the first Trump Administration.

I’m teaching public health during the second Trump Administration.

This is worse.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

Yeah, that’s our hope too.

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

RIFs can’t be done without agency leadership so this is RFK Jr extending his purge of CDC scientists to help Vought’s shutdown agenda. Genuine public health risks created by aggrieved men.

BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

You would not fire these people—including the staff of the hugely, HUGELY important 'Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report'—if you cared at all about public health, if you wanted people to live.

And you would not let your thuggish henchmen fire people like this if you were a responsible president.

How weak must your beliefs be if you think a kid reading a book is going destroy those beliefs

I spotted Marlon Bundo on the "Children's Banned Books" display at The Strand this weekend. It's so sad that we live in a world where this is a real category.
Some of the books in the "Children's Banned Books" display in The Strand bookstore include Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi, Sylvester And The Magic Pebble by William Steig, A Day In The Life Of Marlon Bundt by Jill Twiss (illustrated by EG Keller), When Aiden Became A Brother by Kyle Lukoff (illustrated by Kayla Juanita), It's Perfectly Normal by Robin H. Harris and Michael Emberley, The Amazing Bone by William Steig, No, David! by David Shannon, Not Quite Narwhal by Jessie Sima, And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, Green Eggs And Ham by Dr. Seuss, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (illustrated by Clement Hurd), The Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak, The Family Book by Todd Parr, The First To Die At The End by Adam Silvera, Charlotte's Web by E.B. White (pictures by Garth Williams), Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. (art by Eric Carl), Julián Is a Mermaid by Jessica Love, and many others.

Maude has spent most of the last 24 hours hiding under the bed in fear of a friend staying with us (she’s shy around strangers, even though this friend is a cat lady), but she’s decided that now she’s brave enough to be sociable with the humans.

Come to Pittsburgh! We’ve got a good cocktail scene.

Had a ladies night with a good friend who’s in town and a good friend in my apartment building. This tequila-based cocktail was delectable and bird-shaped, complete with a feather.

Dear NYT: When an anti-education fuckwit billionaire submits an op-ed on why we should dismantle higher education as we know it, you aren't obligated to print their nonsense.

A glaring example of how attacks on DEI can significantly impact infrastructure development and keep underserved populations without needed resources. In this case, canceling the Digital Equity Act’s funding on grounds of “racism” limits rural communities in addressing/closing the digital divide.

In this case, they're being cited for EMTALA violations. But they have other hospitals where the patient abuse has been so bad that DCFS has refused to send adolescents to their hospitals.

This would be a good time to have a DOJ that was inclined to investigate these kinds of problems.
mirandayaver.bsky.social
When I saw this headline, my first thought was, I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is Universal Health Services. And it is.

UHS owns hundreds of for-profit behavioral health hospitals, most of which deliver substandard care, and many under DOJ investigation for fraud and patient abuse.

We're close to completing our list for September. Look for it on our site next week. If you need a refresher, or, you know, lean toward masochism, here are all 416 atrocities committed by the Trump administration since the reality TV star/steak salesman/convicted felon took office.

Still amazed that the Vatican has been more responsive to the threat Trump represents than the vast majority of American institutions.
