They were in a rush to get to their paid vacay. Democracy shemocracy - so it goes.

Voting yes on cloture is the same as voting yes on the coup budget CR. They know that and are hoping voters don't so they can say they voted no on the CR. We know what they did and won't forget. This is their legacy.

2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.
Stupidasses. I hope they knock heads and fall on each other every time that box truck hits a pothole, the driver makes a last minute turn or brakes hard.

They don't look tough, they look sore from making a stupid choice for transportation.

Man, this freaking guy.

"I have no staff ... The phones don't work. There's no computer," Grijalva says from her sparsely furnished office on Capitol Hill. "We don't have a government email." www.npr.org/2025/10/16/g...
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)

John Bolton was indicted because Donald Trump wanted him charged with a crime.

THAT is the crime.
No one cares, really, about bolton. We care about vindictive/selective prosecution. It's a distraction, wasteful, and illegal.
I didn't listen to the oral arguments for the same reason even reading the text from this snippet caused me to sigh and rub my forehead.

Maybe w/ sustained outrage & criticisms by media & legal scholars, it will prevent (or limit) the otherwise inevitable destruction of 2nd section of the VRA?
Justice JACKSON standing up for voting rights. 🔥

Louisiana: Plaintiffs said 'we want another majority-black district.'

Jackson: No. They said 'we aren't receiving equal electoral opportunity because our votes are being diluted.'

Louisiana: Same thing.

Jackson: No, it’s not.
They know what they are signaling and count on U.S. residents and the media to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Don't do it.
Best case scenario: They don't know what this means.

Narrator: This is not the best case scenario.

Good morning. An overnight court filings reveals discussions took place Wednesday over whether the Trump administration has violated a judge's order addressing the use of force in its Chicago immigration campaign.

"The government believes the TRO has not been violated at all."

Again, it is a full-blown federal felony crime for anyone in the White House or Executive Office of the President to order tax investigations into anyone.

And it's not just a crime to DO it, it's even a federal crime for an employee not to REPORT such an order to the Treasury Inspector General.

It's not a presidency – it's an organized crime takeover of your government.
President Donald Trump and his family have reaped more than $1 billion in crypto cash over the past year, thanks to an industry boom fueled by the administration’s own crypto-friendly policies.

The plaque honoring the law enforcement officers who responded to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, which was commissioned by Congress in 2022, remains in storage. Mike Johnson has refused to place it on the wall, as was intended. That "deed" speaks pretty loudly.
Mike Johnson: "We've always stood with Capitol police and law enforcement. We've shown that in word and deed."

The Supreme Court's Republican appointees let Mississippi kill Charles Ray Crawford tonight, despite treatment at trial that was of the same type that SCOTUS later held in another case is unconstitutional.

All three Democratic appointees, in a lengthy dissent, would have kept him alive.
SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
No. 25-385 (25A378)
CHARLES RAY CRAWFORD v. MISSISSIPPI ON APPLICATION FOR STAY AND ON PETITION FOR A WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE SUPREME COURT OF MISSISSIPPI
[October 15, 2025]
The application for stay of execution of sentence of death presented to JUSTICE ALITO and by him referred to the Court is denied. The petition for a writ of certiorari is de-nied.
JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR, with whom JUSTICE KAGAN and
JUSTICE JACKSON join, dissenting from the denial of application for stay and denial of certiorari.
Charles Ray Crawford will be executed tonight for a crime that his own lawyers told the jury he committed, despite his express instructions not to do so. Had this case come to this Court on direct appeal, Crawford could have proved that his Sixth Amendment rights were violated under our decision in McCoy v. Louisiana, 584 U.S. 414
(2018), in which we held that lawyers may not override a defendant's explicit and unequivocal decision not to concede guilt at trial. He would also likely be entitled to a new trial, as a McCoy violation is a structural error that mandates reversal. Charles Ray Crawford has identified an important constitutional issue that this Court has not addressed and has divided courts around the country. The Court refuses to

resolve that question, even though a man's life is in the bal-ance. For these reasons, the Court should have granted Crawford's motion for a stay of execution and petition for writ of certiorari. I respectfully dissent.

The rule of law means future accountability must always remain possible. DHS is implying that accountability itself is illegitimate - a stunning rejection of democratic norms.

“Footage, obtained by the outlet, captured the musician face-down in the mud, with her instrument about two feet to her left, struggling as what appears to be a federal agent straddled her backside. A police officer stood next to the pair.”
The Feds then jailed her across state lines. For music.

Greg Bovino, Kristi Noem, and DHS need to answer for their unchecked attacks on Chicago residents.

ICE is an out-of-control danger to our peaceful communities.
