In case its useful to anyone I did a little explainer on starting the Oslo stitch starting chain

#nalbinding #oslostitch
I did a little photo tutorial for you for the stitch. I’ll do another for the first chain.

Wrap the yarn twice round two fingers and hold the loops between thumb and forefinger with the end attached to the needle over your thumb

As well as #Spotify paying artists hardly anything at all, they’re now running ads recruiting for ICE.

If the crap remuneration for artists wasn’t enough to dump them, perhaps this is.
This is so lovely #visiblemending
I wanted to know the time period, which isn’t given directly but the book which this appears on the cover of seems to be about clothing from the 4th-6th centuries
The lost art of darning. A Child's tunic made from 11 pieces of fabric from 3 different sources, patched and darned. (Whitworth Art Gallery T.8549).

I love the secret blue tippy toes
I’m imagining that the cushion will flatten somewhat with use, it’s very comfy
Awake in the night for a while so I did some midnight crafting… this is normal. The basis is an old cardigan and spare cushion pad. The design is mainly odds of fleece left over from spinning #upcycling #sewing #needlefelting

or, in the words of the Nac Mac Feegle:

“Free Men! Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We willna' be fooled again!”
That’s the joy of the whole thing!
Or wings on the back of a jumper…
As well as warping the loom today I have formulated a plan for my very cheap and boring stool-for-spinning. I shall be using only scraps and leftovers… like the stool which was bought for eldest’s piano before he got a nicer option

And yes I did warp the damn thing the wrong way round, but it’s easy to move the blocks so it’ll be fine. I will know next time!

I need a week off now
Once again I’m pushing the boundaries and innovating in the field of stupid ways to warp a loom. No advice required- I know exactly in what way and to what level I’m unnecessarily making my life harder. #rigidheddleloom #weaving #handweaving #warping
Pretty scales! It’s going to be a gorgeous bag.
Wouldn’t that also make a beautiful shawl…?!

Proud papa moment: my son J published a letter in the @nytimes.com today (in print tomorrow) on the need to think our definitions of autism.
Loud and clear, what else could I do? And thank you x
