Don't feel stupid, but also, if someone helpfully tells you "that's fake," the correct response is "oh shit, let me delete this" not doubling down and disabling comments.

Don’t feel stupid if you fell for fake video. It can be really hard to tell these days. But we do have to try and be careful with what we share because there’s so much AI video out there.

It’s just the world we live in now.

'It is no secret that student attendance has plummeted in recent years, with near-empty lecture halls a staple of the post-pandemic world.'

Really? I lecture to all our 1st years. Lecture hall is full, not near-empty. Student engagement picked up last year and (early days) seems stronger again. 1/2

Every benefit cut is a cut to a high street, a care worker, a council service.

You can’t “balance the books” by burning the foundations.

That’s how you hollow out a nation.

Tory Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride wants to take £47 billion out of the UK economy. That isn't prudence. It's managed decline

Can you think of a single movie in which there is a video from the government denouncing its political opponents playing on a loop in public spaces in which that government was the good guy?

So maybe the left isn't extreme at all. Maybe those beliefs are just common decency. Maybe Telegraph it's you who are the extremists and out of step with humanity?

What the hell does Farage thinks he’s doing, going off to America *again* to maliciously slag off British teachers at some private Christian college, while offering to peddle their courses over here?
What a repulsive, grubby little traitor.

Antifa is not ANY sort of organisation. There is no such group. It is simply a political stance of being opposed to fascism. Banning such a stance and prosecuting people for it is completely Orwellian. It is a government which is actually seeking to make FASCISM a mandatory political view.

Last night Fetterman voted to allow Trump to execute people at sea, today he wants to give him a Nobel Prize. Just no core principles.
atrupar.com
FOX: Do you think Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?

FETTERMAN: If this sticks. I think the whole point of having a Nobel Peace Prize is for ending wars and promoting peace. And if he brings the Ukrainian war to its end, I will be the Democrat leading the committee for his Nobel Prize Peace.

So the immediate effect of abolishing stamp duty is that house prices rise, with a disproportionate benefit for people in £10m+ homes.

Abolition would literally be handing them £1m+

Who benefits from the abolition of stamp duty land tax?

The first answer: people buying very expensive homes. Average saving for someone buying a £10m+ home is £1.7m. Average saving for someone buying a £250k-£500k home is £5k.

Rollins: "We had an amazing cabinet meeting. President Trump walked in before the cameras were there. We all stood up & gave him a two minute standing ovation. There's so much love in that room & respect & just appreciation for him. No one could do what that man is doing today. So I was so grateful"

I want to say this is antisemitism but then I think how common circumcision is in the US compared to so many other places and I wonder if he's just seen some hospital bill for giving birth and is working his way down the list like a bad comedian

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

Yes, if everyone must defer to the president's lies, that is an unrestricted dictatorship.

If "that's just not true" has zero sway, then non-emergencies permit emergency powers, nonviolent actions permit war powers, and any behavior the president doesn't like is an act of war, permitting anything.
grudgie.bsky.social
So the Administration is arguing there’s no actual threshold for dictatorial power besides the willingness to lie. You don’t have to demonstrate literally anything, just be willing to say it.
nicholasgrossman.bsky.social
You must defer to the president’s determination that there is an armed rebellion in Chicago, argues the govt’s lawyer.

That’s the Trump admin’s stance on everything. When the law doesn’t allow it, lie about the facts until it’s something that would be legal, then insist others live inside the lie.
