Drunk fascist, and self-appointed free speech advocate, Pete Hegseth, wants Hess disqualified.

Only a minor point in relation to all the others, but what kind of asshole sits like that
McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in 2024 and the jury ordered him to pay the victim $257,000. He lost all his appeals.

Both, as I wrote at time, were ‘abject failures of journalism’

Bad news for the government that net migration is down 70% yet only 1/6 people know it started to fall at all.

A big part of that is the visible lack of control of boats + hotels

Part is government voice almostly always saying "too high/out of control" itself

Also, I'm not sure how this could be the fault of the printer: the client supplies a print-ready pdf. The printer doesn't add or subtract anything from that; it's a complete document. The printer literally just, you know, prints it.
Reform UK are seeking to fob off blame for their illegal leaflet on a printer error. That won’t stand up with the police - responsibility for making sure the law is followed lies with the party commissioning and distributing the leaflets.

This! Labour’s leadership is being talked about as if it’s some kind of poisoned chalice.

In reality it’s a chance to take over the first term of a government with a huge majority. It’s the political opportunity of a lifetime.
Yet this is a government with three years left to run and an enormous Commons majority. For all the problems, there is an enormous opportunity there for someone with the political nous to take it and use it.
Starmer's reported condition - incredibly unpopular, shorn of authority, probably un-reelectable and yet will stagger on for want of an alternative - is just the new normal of how Britain is governed. It was also true for two-thirds of May's premiership, half of Johnson's and all of Sunak's.

Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

“It could take years to restore Brexit losses”

Especially if Farage comes along and tears up the ‘reset’ as he threatens.

Honest to god.. it’s such a tedious, idiotic, resource-sapping mess. There’s really nothing patriotic about it. Prejudice costs such a lot.

I find it absolutely galling to have read over and over about how the state pension triple lock couldn’t conceivably be overturned/debacle over winter fuel payments while there has been as yet zero political commentary about how exploitative student loans have been for a whole generation.
The system we have now quite literally embeds the income and wealth inequalities HE is supposed to alleviate. It is outrageous and incredible that a progressive govt could describe it in any way as “fair.” Too many senior politicians today think we have Plan 1 loans. They just don’t understand it.
