The great thing about this event was how a lot of ordinary Brighton people just walking past asked to join in and get involved. At least one joined the party because we were supporting trans rights.

So I'm not at all surprised that Brighton has reacted to a transphobic org in the same venue.

We thought the Brighton Centre looked much better when the @libdems.org.uk had our conference there a year ago.

@libdemcam.bsky.social I particularly loved what you said at the end about people coming together and making the effort to know one another. Yes, parties of the right don't actually want different communities to connect and thrive together (Jenrick !) , it would remove their raison d'etre.

I'm an ex Labour voter, now Libdem member. I do wonder if I would have been put off by this 'lets attract tories' tactic. I mean, people are time poor and tend not to look into the nitty gritty of detailed policy or manifestos, so the broad brush messages need to welcome all and always.
