Diane Keaton could move seamlessly between comedy and drama, and is one of the reasons so many iconic 1970s (and beyond) films are so amazing, influential and memorable. She was one of the greats.

Its been two years since we lost the shining light of joy that was Cal Wilson. Here she is at Sammy J's 50 year Show with Sammy at the Northcote Town Hall in 2018.

Been missing my beautiful mate Cal for two years today. Love you, Cal.

Have a very happy birthday. You made the concept of a funny woman hosting a TV comedy show with a standup monologue every week, just a normal thing to me. Little did I know, when I was so young and naive. Cheers Wendy! 🎉🎂🍾

Guess where I was tonight? Got a bit jumpscared when I saw this poster on the stairs, taking me back to the last time I was here, in April, to see Rhys Darby along side their regular Improv group Something Good Improv.
Poster says "Welcome to comedy republic We're here all year. So you can come back next week [then repeated in font that gets smaller and smaller til you can't see it] (and the week after that)..." It is showing a lot of headshots and I've seen most of them on this stage (the other 2 or three I've seen elsewhere) and I'll see how many I can name at one in the morning after a full day's work and night at the Fringe. Anne Edmonds, Rhys Nicholson (venue owner), Sashi Perera, Danny Bhoy, Hannah Gadsby, Randy McFeltface, Arj Barker, Rove McManus, Ray O'Leary, Celia Pacqola, Sam Campbell, Michelle Brasier, Rhys Darby, Josh Johnson. I adore them all.

Have been weeping over everyone's love and concern for Dolly Parton, am so glad she's not seriously ill.
bevismusson.bsky.social
An update from Freida Parton so it sounds like Dolly isn't well, but she's not *that* unwell. Still at 79 any illness isn't good so I'm still hoping she's fine because she's clearly got so much to give still and makes the world a better place just by being in it.
A screenshot of a post from Freida Parton on thr Other Place. It reads:
I want to clear something up. I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She's been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference

I so agree, my dad gambled when it was only horses & lotto & that was bad enough, kept us poor. He made sure we didn't starve, so he didn't think he had 'a problem' it was just his 'hobby' but he gambled 2/3 of his wages and mum had to try to feed a family of 5. We never saw any wins if he had any.

Thinking about how human cloning technology could be used to not only revive famous musical acts, but make them even better. Just imagine Crosby, Crosby, Crosby, Crosby, Stills, Stills, Nash, Young & Young

Realised that I’m now treating funny viral videos in the same way footballers celebrate goals —

1) initial joy,
2 sudden panic it might be AI/offside
3) lengthy investigation as joy saps away
4) conclusion, joy modulated through fatigue if proven legit/onside, but angry and gutted if AI/offside

I’ve had an email from a hotel saying ‘we are eagerly awaiting you’ which seems a bit OVER-keen if anything. Rubbing their hands in reception, cackling. ‘Here he comes. Any time now.’
