I think gen AI usage in Tokusatsu is problematic and not just for the typical reasons.

Toku as a genre is one that emphasizes style over verisimilitude, where being distinct matters more than looking good. This is a thing American adaptations usually fail to understand about it.

For those unaware there's a Power Rangers show being made by "Ninja Kidz"

Despite that name it's clearly targeting a nostalgia demographic.

Also they have used "AI" for the VFX. It fucking sucks.

It’s a symbiotic relationship. Toei and Bandai get a wider audience for Super Sentai- and specifically the TOYS- than a more niche traditional dub ever would get, and Saban/Disney/Hasbro/whoever gets the fight footage to make an action show for cheap
