“Who was president in 2020?” remains one of the most pertinent questions in American politics—absurd, yes, but here we are—and that extends to “who was president January 1 - 19, 2021?”
joycewhitevance.bsky.social
That’s a nice trick, since Biden wasn’t the president on Jan 6.

I share the general feeling about how movies often looked then vs. now, but worth noting The Addams Family movies also had the added benefit of being directed by someone who first found success as a fantastic cinematographer.

Watching The Addams Family. Films just don't look like this anymore and it sucks. Every single set is sublime, the lens choices where so much is in focus so you can enjoy the details vs modern shit being soft focus CG shite....

Not even discussing the audio or acting 😭

I read this limited series so many times as a kid. It’s so great and yes, it’s funny that Marvel’s parody of the Justice League did a Kingdom Come-esque story before DC did (and to be clear, I love Kingdom Come)

Happy 50th Anniversary, SNL! You’ve had a hell of a long term cultural impact for a show continually pronounced dead for at least 45 years!

It’s showing one more night FYI

This sounded like it would be the coolest double feature ever and yep, it totally was! Two amazing movies that were amazing to watch back-to-back.

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

By the way: Isn't it time somebody released (or leaked) Tilda, the HBO pilot that starred Diane Keaton as a Nikki Finke-like gossip columnist? Also with, I believe, Elliot Page, Wes Bentley, Jason Patric, Sanaa Lathan. 2011, many cooks inc. Bill Condon, at least two versions.

I liked Tron: Ares and the stuff they showed from Masters of the Universe at Cinemacon looked promising and yet they both have the stink of Leto on them. Just stop with him, studios, please?

Jared Leto *is* AI: a tacky thing corporations keep forcing on consumers by putting him in everything even though he’s unprofitable and nobody likes it

Yep, Baby Boom for me too, and she was on the cover of the first issue of Premiere I got (and I kept all my copies of that magazine for years). Obviously I would soon realize what an icon and fantastic actress she already was and continued to be. RIP.

I like how the news will be like “while the President claiming Portland was ruled by a giant skeleton named Mr Nibbles is not strictly true, it does speak to the anxiety of many Americans”

Nobody really talks about Chocolate Rain anymore. With rare exceptions, the internet doesn’t really matter.
