What if, and hear me out, we have an election ahead of the general so that people registered with the party can choose who they want? We could call it a….a primary maybe?

Yes, would that work for everyone or is couch fainting and sowing division the more fun option?

ME's Senate field includes at least 3 plausible younger Democrats, most notably the viral populist oyster farmer Graham Platner, 41. Janet Mills is 77. Why are top Dems so set on her? So resistant to new blood? @danpfeiffer.bsky.social asks the right questions. www.messageboxnews.com/p/are-democr...
Are Democrats About to Blow It in Maine?
By backing Janet Mills over a grassroots outsider, party leaders may be repeating the same mistakes from 2024

There is exceptionally little patience within the Democratic party at this moment for campaigns that are viewed as money sucks, vanity projects, or unnecessary risks. ICYMI @lauren-egan.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/democrats-...

Post like this and I unfollow and mute. This is erasing centuries of European pogroms and other violence prior to WWII by making America the sin-eater for the entire Western world. I won't have it and I won't let it slide:

"we didn't cause Nazism" dude Hitler based the Nuremberg Laws on the Jim Crow south and Lebensraum was partially inspired by the native genocide of the 19th century idk what to tell you

we didn’t cause Nazism. whatever caused incumbents to tank in 2024, it wasn’t unique to us. we aren’t uniquely corrupt, or violent, or authoritarian. there are good things and bad things about our country like any other, and Americans work a lot like people anywhere

I have often found myself explaining this to people.

Blue state America is still close to the best place in the world to be trans. And that’s worth fighting for.

Compared to every other option, the US is pretty damn good.

Especially for racial minorities and queers.

Europe, Canada and Mexico compete with us for average quality of life, but however bad it is for marginalized people in the US, it's worse almost everywhere else.

When Obama was president the right wing acted like masked government agents were coming to kidnap them and take all their rights away.

Then Republicans get elected and actually do that shit for real.

UPDATE: Judge Perry issued an opinion explaining why she blocked the Texas National Guard deployment in Chicago.

She begins with Alexander Hamilton’s rejection of a “preposterous” idea that the Constitution lets a President deploy a State’s militia to a different State for political retribution. 🧵
OPINION AND ORDER
Since this country was founded, Americans have disagreed about the appropriate division
of power between the federal government and the fifty states that make up our Union. This
tension is a natural result of the system of federalism adopted by our Founders. And yet, not even
the Founding Father most ardently in favor of a strong federal government believed that one
state's militia could be sent to another state for the purposes of political retribution, calling such
a suggestion "inflammatory," and stating "it is impossible to believe that [a President] would employ such preposterous means to accomplish their designs." But Plaintiffs contend that such
an event has come to pass, and argue that National Guard troops from both Illinois and Texas
have been deployed to Illinois because the President of the United States wants to punish state elected officials whose policies are different from his own.

Basically, the situation is that smart Americans rigged the entire world to prevent dumb Americans from tasting the fruits of their own incompetence, but didn’t count on the masses voting to eat the turd apple.

Paves the way for the Monster Under the Bed Act
RepMTG:

The Sunshine State is getting it RIGHT! 🌞

Florida is shutting down dangerous weather modification and geoengineering schemes because our skies belong to the people, not globalist elites and their experiments.

Now it’s time to do the same nationwide. My Clear Skies Act will END chemical spraying, geoengineering, and weather manipulation across America for good.

No more tampering. No more lies. Just clear, God-given skies! 🇺🇸☀️
