Make no mistake, the cessation of indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and other parts of the Middle East by Israel is only a positive development.

But commentators should be careful how they describe the agreement that ushers in any ceasefire.

Is it a ‘peace deal’? Perhaps.

But… we’re not going to do anything that seriously addresses the impact of Brexit, something that most of the Labour cabinet were against. We’re just going to go along with it so as not to upset the Russian agents in our political system that brought it to pass.

"There is no doubt that the impact of Brexit has been severe and long-lasting", Rachel Reeves tells Sky News, as she suggests that taxes will now have to go up as a result to "make sure the numbers add up".

Someone should ask Trump in a serious manner "What is that you've done in your life that makes you believe you aren't fit to get into heaven?"
atrupar.com
Trump: "He is gonna make heaven. I said, 'I'm not sure I can make it.' But he's gonna make it. He's there. He's looking down on us right now. It's so incredible."

This man needs to be stopped.

If his kinetic strikes aren't basically ineffectual (as with those on Iran's nuclear capabilities), they're illegal - like this latest in a series of civilian murders.

Breaking News: A U.S. military strike killed six people on a boat in international waters near Venezuela, President Trump said, asserting without evidence that they were drug smugglers for an unspecified group his team had labeled terrorists.
U.S. Military Kills 6 People in Another Attack on Boat, Trump Says
In a social media post, the president said the people aboard a boat were suspected of smuggling drugs for an unspecified group his team had labeled terrorists.

What a pig.

Someone rounds off the offensive misogyny by saying something that sounds like "she's so annoying."

Trump ignores a question from a woman reporter but says, "I just like to watch her talk. Good job. Thank you darling."

This is impeachment-worthy levels of illegality.

If only the American political system had any worthy mechanisms with any teeth at all with which to hold its executive (and recently, its partisan legislature) to account.

Unprecedentedly illegal & unconstitutional crimes - things that make Nixon's presidency-ending crimes look like harmless high school pranks - now happening daily:
gregsargent.bsky.social
Trump is no longer even pretending to have any kind of argument that his murdering of people in the Caribbean Sea has any kind of statutory validity. Just straight up declaring that he has quasi-unlimited power to execute people based on (nominal) suspicion.

Trump: "We have told Hamas we want disarm. And they will disarm. And if they don't disarm, we will disarm them. And it will happen quickly and perhaps violently. But they will disarm. Do you understand me?"

There were 26,000 covid deaths because Boris Johnson ignored scientists and delayed the first lockdown by a week

Egypt has extremely strict gun control laws. Civilians are only permitted to own handguns -- no rifles or shotguns -- and only if they can prove they need the weapon for a specific purpose. Background checks for licensing are extensive and include vetting of family members and psych evaluations.

Trump on Egypt: "They have very little crime. Because they don't play games. That's why. Like we do in the United States with governors that have no idea what they're doing."

All Trump has talked about today is money. Military might, and money. The man measures everyone - leaders, states, normal people - by their financial standing.

Perhaps some of the multi-billionaires he has shook (in his own weird way) hands with could use their wealth to solve some real problems.

I've long held the view, in response to the naysayers exclaiming 'UK recognition of Palestinian state is misplaced!', that it's impossible to say empirically that it had a negative effect. How could these people know?

In reality, it was part of a bigger picture, a broader move toward the end goal.
bestforbritain.org
Utterly extraordinary glimpse of what went on behind the scenes.

Political partisanship aside, smart diplomatic analysts have said for a while that recognition of Palestine by countries like UK, France, Canada, etc. was a vital "stick" to Trump's "carrot". But to see it hinted at is remarkable. ~AA

It's not that it was 'cigars and champagne', it's that the leader of the country was able to be bribed and influenced via merely 'cigars and champagne'.

This is a clear insight into how (we already know) Trump views authority and accountability.

Trump to Israeli Knesset: "I have an idea -- Mr President, why don't give him a pardon? Give him a pardon. Whether we like it or not, this has been one of the greatest wartime presidents. And cigars and champagne -- who the hell cares about that?"

This is a scandal that Farage, Tice, and Yusuf are doing everything in their power to keep from exploding into the real story it is.

Mainstream media needs to pick this up and give the UKIP/Brexit Party/Reform UK crowd a grilling.

Then the authorities need to take note and investigate.

Now watching Grandpa Trump extol the strength of the US military, and share a laugh with Netanyahu across the lectern about mighty US weapons that were supplied on demand - some of which that will have undoubtedly killed innocent men, women & children in Gaza.

This is turning out to be grotesque.

It's also pretty insulting to Gazans and their supporters across the world.

The lectures by Netanyahu and Lapid on how anyone expressing even slight displeasure at Israel's genocide of men, women, and children in Gaza are virtually all-out supporters of Hamas are hard to watch.

Watching the Bibi & Don Show treat this like some grand victory, while people returning to northern Gaza dig the rubble for loved ones' remains, is pretty revolting.

An insulting and patronising section of speech by the leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid, during his address to parliament, ahead of Trump's speech.

Says that those protesting 'against Israel' were 'deceived', all but saying they supported Hamas.

Protesters railed against genocide, not Israel.
whitehalltimes.com
It's peculiar that Trump's unilateral recognitions of elements of Israeli statehood aren't lamented in the same way as other states' recognitions of Palestine are.

- Jerusalem as Israel's capital
- Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights
- Israeli settlements in West Bank

Look, maybe not *all* ICE and CBP agents are bloodthirsty psychopaths, but there are plenty of stories like this one and the rest of them sure as shit don't seem to mind, so ...
theswprincess.bsky.social
CBP agents knocked on an El Paso home at 7:15 a.m.

The owner asked to secure his Rottweiler, Chop, in the bathroom.

While he got his ID, agents opened the door and shot Chop.

The family tried to save him as he bled out on the kitchen floor.
whitehalltimes.com
Perhaps the most shocking thing about ICE is that 100% of the operatives appear to be 100% willing to do Trump’s evil bidding.

So hundreds of men all over the country were just waiting for the executive call-up to commence the intimidation and kidnapping.

And they’re loving it.

Crazy.

They'll claim ignorance about these types of incidents, but know the minutiae of detail about how 'Antifa' is funded, and where they're protesting next, and who their next 'target' is.

Politicians like Jeffries, and there are many more like him, think voters are stupid.
