gotta agree with this. at some point we all have to contend with what good faith is actually for and extend it accordingly
A lot of our political discourse would be easier if we didn't extend good faith to people who would never extend it back.

Mandelson’s malign influence runs right through the heart of this Government.

Not least in the govt’s NHS data deal with Palantir – a spy-tech firm co-founded by a man who thinks the NHS should be ‘ripped up.’

I've written to Wes Streeting urging him to ditch this dangerous deal.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

🧵1/ Mandelson should never act as a legislator again. However, an Act of Parliament to penalise an individual is flawed on multiple counts. I see why Starmer wants this behind him, but we should have a proper discussion about addressing any failings in the existing regime and then fix them

2/ All governments should consider how their actions might be abused by a future government from another party with a large majority. But they never do. If they did, we would have PR by now.

Prohibition never works and in fact drives harder drug use courtesy of the "iron law of Prohibition."

Everyone knows that in government but they're too scared of the tabloids to do anything about it.

Remember, the full Epstein Files are well over 6 million pages long.

What you have seen so far is the *least offensive* 3 million pages.

Trump and his lawyers are hiding the other 3 million pages—and have made clear that they will never ever release them, federal law be damned.
