I wish I could say that I'm surprised by this but at this point kindness to each other has gone completely out the window when a school district says a sign that states "everyone is welcome here" is a teacher's opinion and therefore must be removed.

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

I've been trying out TomatoSMS and it actually works pretty well, surprisingly. Will it be a game changer in the nutrition/health tracking space? Maybe?

Unfortunately, I just saw this today and already had to come up with my own store bought solution instead, but glad I'm not the only one who had this exact issue that needed solving. Perhaps this might help some of you out there though.

If someone quote-posts you in a way you don't like, just click on the 3 dots at the bottom right & select "Detach quote." Automatically removes my original post from their quote-post. More: debbieohi.link/detach-quote...

I just did this for a troll, then blocked them.

We have done DNA tests on all of our rescue dogs to figure out their breed mix. One named Wonder unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. Surprisingly, we recently discovered a close DNA relative match as one of his daughters, Belle, after her pawrents reached out to us.

Scrolling video feeds are here and you can make your own version for others to use. 🎥

On Bluesky, you control your scroll. Your attention is valuable, and you should decide how it’s spent. That’s why we prioritize choice: choice of feeds, moderation labelers, etc.

Played a 3-player game of S.E.T.I.: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence for the first time. Sure, we got a few things wrong but now the next play, hopefully with 4-players, will be much smoother and faster. A great addition to the collection.

I like having a large-ish number of followers, because I have an ego, but here on Bluesky I was having fun when I had a fraction of my current followership, because I was having conversations and being part of the community. Followers aren't a hoard and you're not a dragon. Participation>collection.
Y’all, if you’re still focused in 2025 on follower count, you’re lost. Popularity, fame - it doesn’t matter. At all. What matters is what you stand for and how you treat people.

A whole lot of popular, famous ppl out there don’t treat people well or stand for shit
