Fascists build power, in liberal democracies like the US, by pointing to the very real failures of capitalism, and blaming them on the least powerful people in society, to redirect attention away from the Henry Fords and Elon Musks who are actually causing the problems.

This is not a new pattern 1/

ICE is stockpiling arms, including chemical weapons, guided missile warheads and explosive components. The spending dwarfs anything we've ever seen in the agency - a 700% increase.

The President is building an army to attack his own country.

Americans need to move past "but he's not allowed to do that!"

He knows.

They all know.

They don't care.
They often go hand in hand, do they not?

To be clear: deportations to increase cultural homogeneity is the text book definition of ethnic cleansing. Demands that come even close to this are so far outside any democratic norm and the rule of law. What has happened to a country when this is not condemned in the strongest possible terms?
"let the weak die" is also pretty classic eugenics IMO, but (1) the administration is doing plenty without Congress, and (2) they have more than just the one goal. They're also just kinda trashing anything that even *seems* to benefit the working class

So are there any republicans who aren't nazis at this point?
EXCLUSIVE: Embattled Trump nominee Paul Ingrassia told Republicans that the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be “tossed into the seventh circle of hell” and that he has “a Nazi streak,” according to a group chat viewed by POLITICO.

Being kind is cheaper, at a societal level, than being cruel.

Capitalism depends, in part, on the lie that the reverse is true.

Disabled people should not be forced into institutions just because you don’t think they “deserve” housing and support.

Institutions cost the tax payer more money, but they also rob people of autonomy and control.

With adequate support we can retain our independence which helps us thrive.

Capitalist societies have to blame everyone for their own problems, to justify cruelty and neglect.

Imo suggesting someone becoming disabled will be “Karma” is super insulting.

Becoming disabled isn’t a punishment, it’s chance.

If you suggest a bad person "deserves" it, it's like suggesting disabled folk have done something wrong or bad to be disabled.
Maybe it's in the walls or between the floors. Can't be too careful.
But remember, taking down white supremacist statues of Confederates, who waged war against the US, is "destroying history"
What are the odds Trump believes a conspiracy theory about treasure being hidden under that wing of the White House?
Gotta love that "the party of patriotism and history" is now bulldozing part of the White House
This makes me think of what Thought Slime calls "Lib-ism" in this video from the other day. youtu.be/fqqwwS9Kvy8?...

it is perhaps not a surprise that the commentators most associated with the turn towards data in modern political analysis are those who seem to believe that you can maximin electoral politics, but you can't.
Reminder: in accounting left vs. right-wing violence, all violence by ICE and associated agencies IS RIGHT-WING VIOLENCE.

Too many disability programs force you to give up your benefits if you marry and/or live with family.

They encourage total dependency.

With dependency comes increased risk of abuse.

We need autonomy and a living wage so that we can be as safe & healthy as possible.

Before you tell a disabled person it’s their family’s responsibility to care for them… remember that not everyone has family.

What’s more, disabled people are far more likely to be trapped in abusive relationships.

Better social supports would help them break free.

About Red States on #NoKings:

Red State Dems often feel invisible. Unseen. But we are here. We’re doing the work. Often in hostile places. In the places nobody else dares to go. Despite gerrymanders, voter suppression, and without support.

But we keep showing up.

Don’t count us out.

Count us in.
