It’s very straightforward honestly. Just have to trust the pattern and check the stitch counts, but the lace pattern is very easy to see/memorize so it was easier than I expected. The directions make more sense when you’re actually doing it, it was hard for me to visualize until I just jumped in.

I used a yak/silk blend for a Hitofude cardigan and it came out pretty perfect. The only issue is it’s not super elastic, so the neckline got a bit overstretched in blocking, but I wear it frequently and so soft and light ❤️

Lovely! I’ve been curious about this, and have some yarn that is non-sw merino, highland wool, and mohair blend, which supposedly does well for socks. I may try it :)

It’s not enough that I have shutdown anxiety and general existential dread (did you see that insane quantico speech today?), @kelbournewoolens.bsky.social announced Andorra is being discontinued. I really liked knitting with this yarn. Might have stress bought enough for two projects. 🧶

Please do some research on accelerationism/right wing nationalist groups. You have to add that to the soup to understand what’s coming, I think. You MUST start thinking worst case scenario, friend. This is something the user actually did. There’s some folks on Reddit doing it too, it’s a sort of satirical call out, a “what’s coming soon” sort of thing. It’s been causing confusion all day.

Cuff surgery in progress :) I’ve always been scared of this sort of thing, but turns out it’s straightforward and easy :)

Like so many things in life, doing the thing is usually easier than thinking/worrying about doing the thing. 🧶 #knitting

First step to cutting off a cuff to reknit it in contrast color: lay a lifeline in the first round of stockinette.

Second step of cuff surgery: cut a strand off the last row before the lifeline. I do this about 5 stitches from where my lifeline begins, so I’ll have some tail available at the end of the process to weave in securely.

Step three: using a darning needle, undo that last row of ribbing to separate the cuff from glove

Et voila! Glove and cuff separated, all stitches securely held on a lifeline, to be picked up and knitted in the new color.
