GOP: No ACA extensions without abortion restrictions.

It's what happens when you're in a minority position with good leverage & surrender it all to accept the vaporous promise of notorious liars.

Thanks @schumer.senate.gov. You got played like a fiddle. A very out of tune fiddle.

Hegseth wearing a tie covered in russian flags to meet with Zelensky isn’t some clueless mistake. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

It’s a deliberate slap in the face while Ukraine’s fighting for its life against russia.

This should be getting a lot more attention.

Al-Qaeda is reportedly close to taking over an entire country (Mali) in Africa. Hard to believe how little coverage this is getting.

If the jihadists succeed in taking Mali, it would become the first country run by the group. The U.S. has warned its citizens to leave the West African nation immediately.

MAGA Christians are the worst people I have ever met. Zero empathy. Zero compassion for people in need.

My first (viral or bacterial) sick day since the start of the pandemic in March, 2020 was this November 1, following a Halloween night take-out meal apparently contaminated by the norovirus.

I think the past 5.6 years is the longest I’ve ever gone without contracting a bug.

Mask on!

When I was pregnant, I tried to eat well, stay healthy & protect myself from undue stress because the baby could be affected.

For this reason, ICE had a long time policy not to detain pregnant people.

But now they are detaining them, brutalizing them & denying medical attention.

“If Jeanne Shaheen or Angus King, or ideally just Chuck Schumer, went to the mics and said: We have tried everything we can to make Republicans give you back your health care. They refuse to do so. The only way you’re going to get your health care back is to elect Democrats.”
Now that Dems have capitulated, at the very least they should now make every future extension of funding contingent on Trump following the law. Any lawbreaking must be met with: No more votes from us, period.

My exchange with @brianbeutler.bsky.social on that point:

Still thinking about this story. Imagine how cooked your brain has to be on Fox News -- how terrified you have to be, every day in your isolated suburban castle -- to start *shooting* when you see brown people at your door, before the door is even open. We're such a nation of terrified cowards.
Cleaning worker who mistakenly went to wrong home fatally shot: Police
The shooting victim died from a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner's office said.

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

@tressiemcphd.bsky.social has repeatedly observed that the MAGA feminine aesthetic, instead of aiming for a coherent beauty heuristic, is meant *only* to signal female willingness to self-subjugate to a male desire.

The outcome needn’t be “attractive”, it need only say “I’m willing to do this”.
