I checked in on Afnan and she sent me this video from last night in her tent. If you can spare anything to help her find better shelter for Mofeed and Malak before winter really hits, please do tinyurl.com/HelpAfnan
when you see this, post an image from your gallery to describe your mental health

Please help Traji if you can
My due date is very close, and all I wish is to welcome my baby into a warm and safe place.
But until now, I haven't been able to prepare the essentials —not for the birth, nor for my newborn.
I truly need your help and support, even a little, to greet her with dignity and care.

BREAKING:

Cost of Living could plummet as both Labour MPs and right wing commentators join forces to give Green Party free rent in their heads.

Obsessed.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

House prices are already dropping, have seen three for sale in Richmond below the £1mil/bedroom rate
There is apparently a mansion tax for properties over £2 million so expect to see a lot of shit about how that's the normal price of a house these days and average people are being affected.

“Everything is impossible until it’s done” is genuinely one of my mantras
More evidence for my belief that “politically impossible” just means no one has done it yet
Im old enough to remember when road pricing and a mansion tax were seen as politically impossible.

0.2% growth in productivity over five years from "AI".

That's your revolution, lads, really?

The sort of blip that could be reversed by a particularly rainy bank holiday.
Anyway, tech-wise, AI will have a "positive effect on productivity growth", the OBR say, with a 0.2 percentage point impact in five years

Again - all we're asking of the super rich is that they simply get richer at a slower rate. If they scream and cry and threaten to leave over that, then I'm afraid much harsher action is justified to redistribute wealth.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social wants to introduce a wealth tax of 1% on assets of over £10m & 2% on assets over £1bn & if the super rich want to leave the UK because they are being taxed a tiny amount more then we should wave them goodbye

Thatcherite John Redwood says 1% isn't a tiny amount.

There are exactly two types of extremely rich guys:
1. Financial nomads; they'll fuck off wherever offers them the cushiest deal at the drop of a hat, & then you're in a race to the bottom with Saudi Arabia
2. Liars who pretend they're the above, but will grudgingly stay & accept a minor tax rise

Evidence of Farage’s unabashed youthful racism has been in the public domain since at least 2013, yet somehow he has been allowed to remain part of the British political conversation. The fact he wasn’t driven back under a rock years ago has emboldened racists across the country to spread hatred.

There's an advert on his website for a 'Depot Supervisor' that pays £12.75 an hour for shift work.
If he wants to reduce welfare spending maybe he should pay staff enough that they don't need in-work benefits.

Ok I read the article so you don’t have to and honestly it isn’t as obnoxious as the headline but it’s not leaning into the most interesting part of the question, which is “why do we still know so little about human consciousness that we can’t easily explain why a talking machine isn’t conscious”
can’t fucking catch a breath

make it stop

Seeing so much media attention saying, "Oh no, the economy!" and almost nothing from corporate media saying, "Rents, food prices, and basic costs are rising dramatically, while wages remain too low" is tiring.

Our focus should be on providing the means for people to living with dignity.
