O'Leary was in the 'grabbing headlines by being an asshole' business while Musk was still sitting on Peter Thiel's knee, but we haven't heard much from him lately. This is like a serial killer coming to a small town and discovering there's an older serial killer already here, living the quiet life.
Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary says he is happy for Elon Musk to insult him "all day, every day" as long as it's good for publicity.

He says the airline has seen an uptick in bookings since his spat with the SpaceX and Tesla boss began.

I'm in the weird situation of fully supporting decriminalisation of recreational drugs without consuming any.

But it's especially odd because I know there's few people like me but there's loads of people who loudly, publicly support drugs being kept illegal while merrily consuming them.

Starmer is going after the Greens with smears about drug use.

This is a perfect time for the Greens to push for every member of parliament to receive regular drug testing.

At the very least for Polanski to challenge to Starmer to take a drug test.

Paying inherently corrupt people to ignore their nature is the kind of rigorous intellectual thinking that centrism is based on.
This cherished tenet of Sensiblism is obv such utter rubbish. Those motivated by money never or v v rarely ever say: "know what? I'm wealthy enough. I'll stop there". Cos enough is *never* enough for the greedy. If we paid MPs more they'd simply pocket the pay rise & continue with the side hustles

Do you like trains and also more @reobinwagon.bsky.social and @trufflehog.bsky.social content?

Because that's how you get more content (by tuning in at 8PM tonight!)
Tonight, #Railnatter looks at the Adamuz rail crash in Spain, looks at the most likely mechanism of derailment and why this doesn't really answer many questions at this point.

Somewhat related, it's fucking hilarious how very, very little it took to have republicans declare the 2nd amendment unconstitutional

A happy vassal, eh. It really is wild how Trump is so exceptionally dumb, that he is forcing everyone to say things that previously couldn’t have been coerced out of them in a dungeon via the medium of a red-hot poker.

Mentions swamped on the other place thanks to a fairly innocuous mention of Boomers regarding polling that a (slim) majority of them don't want free bus travel for under-22s, lol.

NEW: Glasgow City Council has just approved a massive AI-generated mural to be painted in the city centre.

The illustration of Scottish elements inexplicably contains a bald eagle.

The planner says those upset about it are "keyboard warriors" who should "calm down"

Brianna Ghey was targeted by classmates who knew her offline. Online, she made friends and a community, and was making content to help other trans kids like her.

This is a grieving mother pushing for legislation that would have further isolated her trans child, that is supported by transphobes.

BREAKING: White House says stop arresting protestors for supporting Palestine Action

Extremely embarrassing for Keir Starmer, this exemplifies how the ban & arrests for holding paper signs have made the UK an anti-free-speech outlier on the global stage

They demand more detail from the Greens than they do the sitting government.
I see the anti Green trolls are at the pretending to be friends stage. "I would vote for you but where's the detail?" "I would love to vote Green but in my area.."

It's a great opportunity to sing about our policies and point out our record of winning seats from any one.

It's really funny to think about the Canadian Liberals, another party that was locked into a zombie government on course for annihilation who harnessed anti-Trump sentiment to resurrect their terrible party and how Labour just will just never figure it out.

A lot of people are asking "what should Starmer have done if you're so smart?" When the answer is: literally anything other than ramble about how much he loves America. You don't have to be a genius to understand that trying to ride a tiger is a dangerous gamble.

These issues themselves are fine but the refusal to place immigration and the secret police terrorizing our families alongside those issues presumably means that a bunch of leadership are white supremacists and I am fairly comfortable jumping to that conclusion at this point.
NEW: In this interview, Chuck Schumer describes the "five buckets" Dems think are key to their possibly winning a Senate majority in 2026: housing, "the high price of food [and] food monopolies playing a major role there," electricity, "the high cost of childcare," and health care.
Zero Chucks Left to Give
Chuck Schumer now sees a path back to the majority. Can he manage his way through it?

instead of, yknow, blowing it on dead malls full of Elegy of Emptiness statues for rich people
