I slept 12 hours, and then spent four alternately dozing and watching shorts. Then finally got up at 16.30 to eat 2 bowls of cereal and go back to dozing but on the sofa this time.

Apparently I needed it. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m exhausted right now.

It got identified as the next wedge issue after gay marriage and the American right started covertly funneling money to the tiny minority of UK bigots in order to help mainstream their position. They picked up some famous converts and now they're reaping the rewards. It's entirely manufactured.

Not going mad am I, when I say that I'm sure trans rights was less of a vocal issue say 15 years ago? Like trans people were more accepted weren't they? The silly slang terms always existed, but they were treated better weren't they? What exactly changed to embolden the more open awful treatment?

If you’re doing the “trans men in women’s toilets” gotcha, 1) you’re making what was always a crap argument 2) you’re revealing that you haven’t read the UK Supreme Court judgment because it says trans men aren’t allowed in women’s spaces (because we look like men) OR men’s spaces

This is wild. I don't want to add my views until I've read considered and informed analysis of the ruling but this is very surprising and unfortunate.

Although maybe it shouldn't be given that trans people were not allowed to represent ourselves in this case as interested parties

The UK Supreme Court has unanimously decided that the definition of sex under the Equality Act 2010 refers solely to biological sex, and does not include people with a Gender Recognition Certificate.

This case was about whether transgender women with GRCs count as female when it comes to the protected category of sex. The ruling's bullshit, but it doesn't change the fact that trans women are women, and it doesn't remove the protections under law for trans people *for being trans*

Right, because I've now seen misunderstandings of this enough times that it's got me worried that people don't know this - transgender people in the UK are protected by the Equality Act 2010 under the category of gender reassignment.

*That* was not under discussion today and hasn't changed.

Yeah, ok, so, the Supreme Court just ruled that ‘woman’ refers exclusively to ‘biological sex’. Stepping back decades of protection, dignity and human rights for trans women.

So! My team at work are doing a Dwarf Sunflower growing challenge. On Wednesday 2nd we (most of us) potted our seeds.

Apparently I’m the only one who used the whole bag, 3 seeds to a pot. I now have 8 sprouts 😌

I am enjoying this 😌
8 small nursery plat pots arranged inside a nursery plant tray, the lid off. The top row of 4 pots each have sprouts: left to right, 2 tiny sprouts, 2 mid sprouts, 2 large sprouts, 1 tiny sprout. In the bottom row, only 1 pot has a mid size sprout.
