Our Solar System is orbiting the center of our Galaxy at about 220 km/s so in 2025 we collectively traveled something like 7 billion kilometers across the Milky Way. Once in a while, when you have a moment, it’s worthwhile to take a look around, see where you are, and appreciate how far you’ve come.

She's the reason I don't beat myself up for leaving laundry in the dryer for days on end & why I stopped folding my clothes (to reduce the barrier to putting stuff away).

It is uncomfortable explaining that J drove to Phoenix instead of flying because of covid (and influenza) concerns. I know that people are really judgy about it.
But societally, we're just pretending that covid is benign when it can be, and often is, absolutely devastating.
