Now that everyone has migrated to Bluesky, I am just now realizing that I should *probably* post about my RPG Maker epic again.
Animals! Devils! Escape a prison! Sassy banter! Destroy a prison! Confront the past! Fight a totally normal horse! Your apartment has four floors this time!

I made a GRAPHIC NOVEL with @madjesters1.bsky.social!

BONES OF THE VOYAGER follows Nina, an indie director dealing with problems on set and her depression—which is embodied by a sarcastic skeleton named Vincenzo

Headshot of Lynn Almengor holding a copy of the graphic novel, "Bones of the Voyager" by Lynn Almengor and Janet Figueroa. Cover of the graphic novel, “Bones of the Voyager” by Lynn Almengor and Janet Figueroa. A young woman with white hair and glasses stands on a stage decorated with a red curtain and stars hanging from the ceiling by strings. She’s trying to use a video camera while a skeleton wearing a black-and-white checkered ska getup interrupts from behind her to take a selfie.

I remember playing it to completion way back and thinking it was really cool! It definitely represents that late 2000's/early 2010's era of indie game dev in the best way

4️⃣2️⃣ You have 42 hours left to buy Queer Games Bundle 2025. Get over 600 radical, heartfelt games and projects for $60 (or $10+), less than the price of one AAA game. This morning, we've passed $80,000 for queer artists.

pixel art shows the numerals 1 through 80 over a background of genderfluid pride flag colors. each number is on a section of a ribbon shape creating a woven appearance, with rainbow and transgender pride flag colors and various textures.

Thanks! I'm excited by the ideas; just hoping I can follow through

Jailbird Nocturne gave me a permanent taste for long-form storytelling (ew oh no), but I don't want to spend 4 years on a game ever again, so I'm hoping that embracing an RPG/novel hybrid format will enable me to tell a larger story faster than I otherwise could.
alexandrah.bsky.social
Moreso than my previous RPG's, I'm experimenting with leaning more heavily on prose. While the world map and dungeon(s?) will be rendered, the idea is that everything else (e.g. cutscenes and towns) will be conveyed through text.

Rival nobles set off to rescue a princess from a tower but everybody has a complicated relationship with the "prince and princess" thing. It's like Revolutionary Girl Utena meets We Know the Devil but everyone is riding a motor scooter because hell yeah.

Life's finally stabilized enough and I have *just* enough assets made that I can share a screen of my current project!
Working title: Motor Oil and Sword.

Also, this should be (and seems to be) the case, but if someone else who purchased the bundle could confirm to me that buying the bundle provides access to Jailbird Nocturne's paid bonus content, I would deeply appreciate it!

“A source that cannot be verified or remain consistent is useless.”

Shout this sentence from on high.

So Google AI is no longer telling us Mary Shelley and Jane Austen were sisters. That doesn't mean it's now 'right' or 'better'. It's just different, and there's no way to know why. New stolen material uploaded? Manual intervention? A source that cannot be verified or remain consistent is useless.

I'm always shook when I go to a neocities site and the about me page says "I miss the old pre-social media internet, also, I was born in 2009."

I want to repeat the phrase "being forced to undergo the wrong puberty" until every remotely persuadable cis person in the world sees it: denying gender-affirming care to trans teens isn't neutral or default, it's forced body modification.
blurry-line.bsky.social
A lot of us older trans people didn't even have the conceptual vocabulary to articulate to ourselves that we *were* trans when we were teens. That's a very different experience from living now, in a much more aware society, knowing exactly who you are, and being forced to undergo the wrong puberty.

Something the Skrmetti decision drives home: "Puberty blockers" should be abandoned as a goal; the goal should be HRT for any minor that wants it; puberty blockers should be a tool for minors who choose themselves they need more time to decide and *nothing else*.

Compromising achieved nothing, here

Thank you! The D&D is nourishing. The other stuff, not as much yet
