One word I cannot get over is "opine". It sounds like it has angst in it, like it should be synonymous with "plead" or "lament" or something, but it literally just means "state as one's opinion."

That's what I always do! But I cook in a pot. Put the rice in, put your finger on top of the rice, and fill the water up to first knuckle -- I never seem to have a measuring cup when i need it lol so this is the only way i know how to make rice 😂
