I would say Kelvin, as that has good Scottish roots in the university of Glasgow, but I’m not 100% sure she will have heard of it.

I have bad news about how likely anyone antifa is to agree with each other, let alone anyone else.

if i had a nickel for every time Ash Regan had run for leadership of a party, lost, and then quit that party entirely i’d have two nickels, etc, etc

Well… yeah. Unless I’ve seriously misremembered the story of the Good Samaritan and they beat him up afterwards and then force him out of the country.

Yes, to be fair I think that’s about when you get your National Insurance number. Of course, the fact we already have an NI number makes digital ID pointless for the problem they claim it solves.

Sounds like ‘right to addiction recovery’ is as big a misnomer as ‘right to work‘ is in the US.

This afternoon MSPs will decide whether to support a Bill called ‘Right to Addiction Recovery’. The title sounds like a good thing, and we all know that Scotland has appallingly high numbers of drug related deaths. So why is this Bill the wrong answer? 🧵
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Oh. I knew that but the way everyone was talking I assumed it had been approved by the commission.

DO the working class identify with national flags? I grew up in a working class, ex-mining town in England and England flags were footie time only, really. Nobody was flying it otherwise.

I now live in a predominantly working class area of Edinburgh and don’t see the saltire every day either.

Serious answer you probably didn’t want : because they’re young fogeys. The nature of regressive politics is to think things were better in the past almost purely by dint of it being the past.

So they try their best to look old because age is all they respect. It’s quite deliberate.

Latest poll puts Greens just two points behind Labour. When I said we weren't here to be disappointed in Labour but to replace them, I meant it.

Join us and let's make hope normal again.

Poll from find out now showing greens on 15 and labour and Tories on 17. Reform on 32.

She’s made it pretty clear she intends to make her misery everybody’s problem.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
It’s pretty silly. I can understand legislation that says you *must* clarify that it is a vege/vegan substitute so people know what they’re getting without going to the ingredients but if that’s made clear… what’s the problem?

I think how we spend money on the military needs serious review anyway. A lot of what we’re spending money on in an era of drones is the equivalent of keeping the cavalry ready in world war 1.

That’s a whole other conversation, though.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
If that’s the case that is a very silly commitment from the SNP.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
This is delusional. Labour have been all about the culture war distractions (immigration, gender critical nonsense, ‘Britishness’) and you can ask any trans person in the UK how much they feel their rights have been protected.
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Or tax increases on the wealthy and big business. The UK’s income tax rate is around the EU average for high earners but nowhere near the top. Equally we’d probably spend less on military spending (as small countries tend to).
