OK. Does anyone know WHY Elon decided it was now policy to reveal most Twitter users are bots based in India or Russia? What did he hope to gain?

Hugely disappointing, with world now on track to yet more heating & chaos, & poorest hit first & hardest. This process needs radically rethinking - meantime it’s vital that the Brazil-led coalition of the willing urgently delivers on plans to leave fossil fuels in the ground #COP30

Turns out the ’For Women’ lot are actually against women’s rights. Who could have predicted this from the group that brought you, “If you look too masculine we’ll ban you from the toilet”?
Kathleen Stock has written an article against "abortion permissiveness". She claims abortion requires "justification" saying the state should limit "unacceptable decision-making" by women about their own bodies.

This is who anti-trans activists proclaim as the feminist thought leaders of our time.

Drug consumption rooms have been proven to be effective at reducing the numbers of drug deaths. One more way in which this UK govt is failing vulnerable and marginalised people.

UK government will not change law for more drug consumption rooms
A committee urged the government to change the legal framework for drug consumption facilities but this was refused.

It would be nice if decent people, which I firmly believe are the vast majority, were listened to when they say, “Enough is enough now.”
If a Prime Minister is brought down by being too cruel on asylum policy - which is not the most likely option but feels plausible right now, which is new - what does that do the debate? Is it too much to hope that draws some kind of line?

Another chilling aspect... The Tories simply passed a law declaring Rwanda "safe".

Do we really trust that this govt or the next won't resort to similar tactics if this finds them politically convenient?

“We must restore order and control,” do you know what you sound like?
On Monday, Shabana Mahmood will announce an overhaul of the asylum system, here’s why ⬇️

This is truly the cruellest govt of my lifetime. Petty-minded and mean.

UK set to limit asylum seekers to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

Vote Green.
The SNP's wrecking amendment to this motion has sadly passed, confirming that the Scottish Government no longer opposes the Rosebank oil field application. A huge step backwards and a sad day for Scotland's reputation on climate action.
Under Nicola Sturgeon & Humza Yousaf the Scottish Government rightly opposed the proposed Rosebank oil field.

John Swinney has sadly dropped that opposition and tried to avoid taking a position at all.

That's not good enough, so tomorrow the @scottishgreens.org will force a vote.

The entirety of UK BluePol right now:

“The Prime Minister may be challenged…”

Hooray!

“… by Wes Streeting.”

Booooo!

Although if Labour MPs think Streeting is a charismatic leader they deserve all they get.

Mamdani could have won on the ‘keep Kid Rock out of New York’ vote alone.
Kid Rock cancels New York shows: “I don’t sing for commies.”

Darryl Ayo falls on the floor, aghast and in tears: “No. Not Kid Rock. Please. What have we—the left—done?”

He thinks the best qualification to be an air traffic controller is patriotism...
The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

So… starving working class children wasn’t enough to make ANY Democrat cave but the moment flights home at Thanksgiving for the middle class were under threat a small group of them did.

And they wonder why their base is uninspired.

But it IS in line with this government’s goal of being the most disappointing and depressing Labour govt ever (and also the last Labour govt ever).
Cutting the insulation schemes that are one of the best ways to permanently reduce energy bills for low income families would be an eyewateringly daft & counterproductive way of seeking to reduce energy bills, as well as driving up emissions & leading to mass job cuts in the insulation sector 🙄
Cutting home insulation funding will imperil UK’s climate goals, Reeves told
Energy firms and charities urge chancellor to avoid short-term fix that could also harm low-income households

Do ask any Labour MPs or centrist commentators congratulating Mamdani what they can possibly learn from some of his policies. Like these for instance.

It’s fascinating how Mamdani’s campaign is trying to appeal to people‘s best instincts - hope, mutual aid, care for those most in need; whereas Cuomo is trying to appeal to their worst - greed and capitulation to power.
This isn't a closing election argument, it's Vidkun Quisling explaining why surrender is better than resistance.

The number of young men intending to vote Reform is wildly exaggerated in the media, but I hope those that were will see this and realise Reform is not a party for the young in any way.
Nigel Farage, who has so far registered a total of £280,500 for four hours a month as a "brand ambassador" for a company selling gold bars, thinks a £10 an hour minimum wage for young people is too high bylinetimes.com/2025/11/03/n...
