one of the most depressing realizations in politics is the day you understand that a lot of people would legitimately prefer to spend more money to make sure nobody “undeserving” gets a benefit than to make it accessible to everyone

I can remain somewhat anonymous on here for now - but I guess I fell in love with someone deeply about two years ago, and I think he knew but he didn’t know, you know. We don’t speak anymore. I deeply miss him. He made me feel so alive. We held hands. We held each other through a lot.

What gets to me most is that the UK government enabled foreign states to loot our essential infrastructure, milking it for profit and leaving it in ruins. Those states must think we're insane.

I feel mislead by all dystopian literature. It's supposed to be a powerful authoritarian government that lords over a cowering population, and and we just need need a few brave acts of heroism to give the people the courage to rise up.
Instead it's just half the country being dumb and mean.
