Every week, I speak to people in my constituency struggling with mental health.

Many are worried about feeding their kids, paying the rent or losing benefits.

Britain's mental health crisis is the result of political choices. This government is choosing to push more people into despair.

Labour has just declared war - on disabled people.

Come on, Starmer cheerleaders. Come out and defend this absolutely nauseating new attack.

"We have to make cuts so we can build more bombs".

I think this is bollocks.

Defence spending involves vast amounts of waste.

Russia represents a real and hideous threat to Ukraine. The threat beyond that is exaggerated.

Keir Starmer, you claim huge and damaging cuts are vital so we can buy arms and defend ourselves. Prove it | Owen Jones
Splurging the cash is not the answer to Europe’s security jitters. Let’s ignore the hyperbole and decide what’s actually needed, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

Labour could tax the super-rich to end poverty, build social housing and fix our NHS.

They are choosing to go after the worst-off instead.

For a while, many people didn’t know what this government stood for. They do now: tough choices for the poor, endless money for war.

one of the most depressing realizations in politics is the day you understand that a lot of people would legitimately prefer to spend more money to make sure nobody “undeserving” gets a benefit than to make it accessible to everyone

Since details of the smear campaign broke, initially in a big feature in The New York Times, then subsequently in dozens of articles on major news sites, not one outlet has used the word misogyny. www.usermag.co/p/blake-live...
Why won’t the media use the word misogyny?
Misogyny is at the core of these smear campaigns targeting women, yet news coverage consistently avoids naming it.

I can remain somewhat anonymous on here for now - but I guess I fell in love with someone deeply about two years ago, and I think he knew but he didn’t know, you know. We don’t speak anymore. I deeply miss him. He made me feel so alive. We held hands. We held each other through a lot.

The economy of lowering women’s self esteem - collectively so we put up with shitty male behaviour bc men know they can’t live up to bettering themselves to be the men we deserve - is alive and well. Just call me the slumflower.

What gets to me most is that the UK government enabled foreign states to loot our essential infrastructure, milking it for profit and leaving it in ruins. Those states must think we're insane.
The Chinese government would never let us walk in and seize its assets. But we've let it do just that.
How privatisation works (and Thames Water is just the latest example).
1. A government takes a national asset built up with taxpayers' money and the work of public servants over many years, and hands it, for a fraction of its value, to a private company.
2. In doing so, it creates a monopoly.

I feel mislead by all dystopian literature. It's supposed to be a powerful authoritarian government that lords over a cowering population, and and we just need need a few brave acts of heroism to give the people the courage to rise up.

Instead it's just half the country being dumb and mean.
