Yikes, this is such a childish, edgelord, terminally online response from them. At best it makes me roll my eyes at them, at worst it makes me think they have zero chance of getting a game out the door if this is how they respond to even mild criticism.

How can anybody look at any large tech company right now and think "cool I trust them not to massively fuck this big thing and/or their users right up"

The tech industry is a total fuck up. It's your crap brother who isn't welcome at Christmas. It's the drunk on the train you move carriage to avoid

That sounds like an exceptionally and importantly petty thing to do, so I'm definitely in 😜

(That graph really pisses me off - absolutely ignoring playtesters etc)

This is grim & dangerous over reach.

This is a government that have lost the moral argument & are still selling arms to Israel. Now further cracking down on dissent.

Absolutely the opposite of what they should be doing - so of course this is what the Labour Government choose.

NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.

Solidarity to all the other devs who are looking at their emails and just sighing this weekend ✊
amicableanimal.bsky.social
It just made me sigh as now I have to patch a bunch of things 😢

Lol, well this has dated fantastically with the news that now EVERY GAME MADE IN UNITY FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS needs to be patched.

Truly Unity are nailing it 👌

Man, The CW's budget really increased since I last watched anything from them 😜

I was trying to introduce students to Unity this week and it's so awful to demo. Every year it's getting noticeably shitter and more hostile. From Unity Hub trying to trick your project in the cloud for ad reasons, to opening in admin and then screaming at you, to template projects shipping broken.

Just a quick check in with Labour at their Party Conference...

Oh the five biggest petitions ever are all from since they took power

The Digital ID one is already the second biggest and hasn't slowed down. Four of them are from the last few months. Two are calling for an election

Going well then?
A screenshot of the UK petition website etc shows a search box and then an ordered list of petitions by number of signatures:

7,455 petitions

Call a General Election
3,084,718 signatures, now closed

Do not introduce Digital ID cards
2,025,010 signatures

Call an immediate general election
955,500 signatures

Repeal the Online Safety Act
543,016 signatures

Introduce offshore detention/mass deportation for illegal migrants

Cool so they don't know:
- What is going to be used for
- When is going to be implemented
- What it will contain
- How to avoid disadvantaging at risk groups

They've also (of course) fluffed the messaging today so apparently it'll be not be mandatory for all UK citizens but also it will be 🤦
amicableanimal.bsky.social
Imagine if some people already don't perform right to work checks and they'll just not do this check either? So many groups have already pointed out his laughable it is.

At least they've thought it through and it's not a kneejerk attempt to look less shit at their party conference

Fucking. Lol.
A screenshit from BBC news which reads (the last paragraph is highlighted in yellow):

We don't know:

The specifics of which services you'll be able to access via digital ID

When exactly the scheme will be introduced - the government says it will be mandatory "by the end of the Parliament"

Whether the card will include people's address - this will be considered in the government's consultation

What those without smartphones will use - the government says it's working on this element

It truly is incredible watching Labour flail around without any direction, leadership, or ideals. It's so nakedly pathetic and desperate.

Of fucking course digital IDs won't "fix immigration". It can, however, easily worsen the digital divide, put everyone's data at risk, and alienate more voters 🤦
