They do this parting shot with tear gas all the time, pretty much a matter of policy at this point. Maybe a Bovino special? We’ll see.
Stancil said something I’ve been thinking about for the past two days.

He said he’s getting tear gassed basically every other day at this point because after a standoff with neighbors, agents “all kind of load into a convoy of cars, and then as they leave…toss a bunch of tear gas out the back.”
NEW: Hours after the fatal shooting of intensive care nurse Alex Pretti by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, I interviewed @whstancil.bsky.social, who has been involved in local rapid response efforts to track ICE in the city.

This was a harrowing—and inspiring—interview.

Banana republic stuff.
Breaking MS NOW:

Trump's Justice Department has decided there will be no civil rights investigation of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, and instead two units of DHS will investigate their own officers and the man they killed.
No civil rights violation probe into latest MN shooting, sources tell MS NOW

They don’t actually hope he’s less murderous. They hope he’s better at murdering and getting away with it.
Replacing Greg Bovino with “border czar” Tom Homan is a sign that the administration knows that something needs to change ... But they cannot retreat or admit defeat—so all we’re getting is a different corrupt person in charge, just one they hope is less murderous. trib.al/NW9L8Ga

You know my name. You know where I live because your agents tailed me home twice. I spent 5 hours today following them and will spend 5 hours tomorrow. Come put me on TV so I can tell the whole world what I’ve seen you do to my neighbors.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

Guys maybe the number one obstacle to organizing here in Minneapolis is the unfounded fear that if you get involved, DHS will put you on a list and assassinate you. It leads people to avoid organizing or act in ways that are completely detrimental to organizing. Please please do not spread that fear

Vienna Convention puts embassies & consulates as “inviolable”: can’t be searched, entered, etc by security forces w/o permission of mission.

So a warrant is besides the point except as extra fascist fuckery.

Not extraterritorial in sense it’s Ecuadorian land…

I heard someone say it was “extreme” to demand the names of the ICE agents who murdered Alex Pretti.

No. Demanding government disclosure of the names of government agents when they kill Americans is moderate.

Wanting to read the names off the plaque at a mass grave would be, perhaps, extreme.

This is not a rogue agency. This is an agency doing exactly what it’s been told to do, from the President down.
I've been sent video from the end of the ICE raid at the Zipps on 32nd and Shea.

It shows protesters -- on the sidewalk, impeding no one -- getting drive-by maced by an ICE agent from a truck as it rolls away down the road.

Hard to see how such tactics are justifiable.

You should read this piece. Adam is right: the core theory behind the anti-ICE mobilization here in Minneapolis isn’t really a political ideology, but that neighbors are neighbors and must be protected.
"Minnesotans are insisting that their neighbors are their neighbors whether they were born in Mpls or Mogadishu. That is, arguably, a deeply Christian philosophy, one apparently loathed by some of the most powerful Christians in America" ~ @adamserwer.bsky.social

I suspect right now Stephen Miller and the other nazis are meeting to discuss how a place not as “nice" or "peaceful” as Minnesota will provide better oxygen for their lies and goals of martial law.

All sorts of groups are always spending money to “gin up these people” about their cause. Thing is, it never generates a turnout like this bc people will only take action for things they are truly passionate about
Rep. Claudia Tenney has brainworms shooting out of her head on Fox Business: "We see these tragic deaths that have occurred because the Democrats are using outside groups and a lot of money going in to gin up these people and they really don't know what they're fighting about."
