⭐ Welcome to AndyK250's 2026 Media Thread!⭐

For the past couple of years, I've tried to thoughtfully keep track of and post about the things I've watched, played, or read over the course of a year. I'll be continuing that tradition this year, starting with this post.

The fact that MAGA is pissed about Bad Bunny in the halftime show should be presented as an uncomplicated positive. "Not only is he hugely popular with the majority of mainstream U.S. audiences, he's also made ignorant bigots as angry and excluded as we would always hope to make them feel."

A 1994 Japanese Nintendo catalog included a sample image to illustrate the capabilities of Mario Paint that depicts "KOOPA'S WIFE BIBINBA". While the character is likely not canon, her name is based on a discarded name for Bowser, so it may have been drawn by a Nintendo employee.

I've just published a new userscript that remembers the path of your cursor over the linked pages of Wikipedia, averaging and wearing them into the page, showing your browsing history over time

I finally just saw a commercial for the movie The Bride and I swear I thought Christian Bale's Frankenstein's Monster was Tom Waits.

Just your regular PSA that actor Vincent Price was cool as f*ck: Here he reads Native American student’s poetry in 1967 at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Price established the Vincent Price Awards in Creative Writing for Native students, a stipend that was in place

probably not great that every natsec-adjacent reporter has spent the last 24 hours going "ron wyden expert here, this is not cute, ron wydens only do this when they're very distressed"
@wyden.senate.gov's record of warning that there is deep and constitutionally-serious dirt being done by the intelligence agencies in secret is unblemished. The vaguer he is, the filthier the dirt is. This is the vaguest I've ever seen him
Ron Wyden Only Talks Like This When The Spies Do Something *Real* Bad
No, I don't know what they did. But I have a lot of experience with the senator

Her testimony is everything and it deserves to be heard, by everyone. Decide for yourself.

It’s powerful. It’s gut-wrenching. And no one should have to survive what she did.

We're living in a Gilded Age absent any of the charitable good works.

We're living in 1770s France.

I've visited so many Carnegie libraries in my life. Carnegie was flawed, but at least he contributed *something* that people can enjoy a century after he died.

If Musk died today (🤞🏻) his legacy would be "popularizing EVs" – something that would have happened anyway – and funding artificial meteors.

I know you shouldn't stereotype an *entire* family/surname, but there are Homans in the small town where I grew up and they are all dumb, loud pieces of shit, too.
Homan: "I said back in March of this year [sic] that if the hateful rhetoric didn't stop I was afraid there would be bloodshed. And there has been."
