🚨 Are young women becoming more left-wing & young men more right-wing?
We analyzed 32 European countries (1990–2023).
📊 Some show growing gaps—others don’t.
📊 Gaps tend to be bigger where gender equality is higher.

An interesting analysis of gender and dialogue in movies, incl. a Disney subset.
Gender is just one characteristic that comes into play on our screens. In a recent @languageonthemove.bsky.social podcast ep, @brynnquick.bsky.social and I discussed accents and how they can shape how we see the world

Leaving Berlin so inspired to work on research projects that are enriched by the discussion at @wzb.bsky.social this week! My Rafstedt and @hannahzagel.bsky.social brought us such a refreshing workshop format where we focused on mutual understanding instead of “performing!” Thanks so much, bis bald!

Climate change and the environment doesn't give a crap about your class.
In fact, majority of the CO2 emissions stem from the wealthy "The richest 1% of humanity is responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 66%"

Empirical findings based on current curricula reveal that most German states' curricula rank low to medium in comprehensiveness, yet show significant variability in prescriptiveness, with notable differences among school types.

comprehensiveness (range of topics) & prescriptiveness (level of specification). These indicate how curricula shape reproduction knowledge provision - by introducing varying numbers of topics *and* by specifying what exactly is to be taught with different levels of precisions.

🪩 Key takeaway: A policy perspective on curricula is crucial to specifically understand how states provide reproduction knowledge & how curricula shape the to-be-taught content. Longer version: ⬇️

It's been a long time coming but - my first PhD article is now published! 🎉✨
I conceptualise how sex education curricula shape the provision of reproduction knowledge, with empirical examples from the German federal states. ...⬇️

Very excited about this book, full of insightful contributions! 🎉 My chapter explores curriculum-making in sex education: who is (made) responsible for what goes into these curricula? A comparative lens on "knowledge responsibility" across German federal states. Open-access available soon!
