One of the main vectors of modern anti-vax is a Google cofounder’s ex wife using the fortune she got divorce to promote people like RFK Jr.
billionaires should not be allowed to exist because the downside of "one of them loses their mind" is simply too dangerous for a functional society

also, having a billion dollars tends to make you lose your mind
The whole point of democracy is so one person's derangement does not become everybody's problem. It's social hygiene. The fact the richest men in the West are a mix of grotty twelve year olds and deranged apocalypse fanatics is a problem, and we should be honest about it.

This isn't the first time I've heard this take but it remains as apt as ever.
We’re living through a golden age for losers who don’t seem to realize how much they keep telegraphing their loserdom to the rest of us. They preen and pose as world-conquering superheroes while continually exposing just how sniveling and pathetic they really are. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

They effectively control our fates, but deep down, they know they’re sniveling, pathetic, and inadequate, and it eats them up.

This is not the AI boom creating a new type of work, this is a classic example of managers using automation to deskill old ones. Creative workers who once made a higher wage creating original art and writing are now paid in piecework to edit automated output. Bosses are using AI to cut labor costs.
The AI boom has created a new type of work: fixing botched AI. Designers are being hired to remake wonky AI art. Writers are asked to make ChatGPT’s writing sound more human. Even software developers are tasked with fixing buggy vibe coding.

Four journalists were killed by an Israeli strike on a Gaza hospital today, including Mariam Dagga, a freelancer with the @apnews.com. She has a 12-year-old son, who was evacuated from Gaza earlier in the war.

She was a true hero, like all of our Palestinian colleagues in Gaza.

Possibly stupid question - who decided to call it 'hallucinate' instead of 'lie'? Both are fundamentally human experiences but one is more palatable than the other. Is it that there is no deceitful intention by a computer system? www.nytimes.com/2025/05/05/t...

Men are not constantly being told “you’re bad,” they are constantly being told “LEFT WING SJWS THINK YOU’RE BAD” by conservative propaganda. There’s a huge difference.
I have two sons, and I don't think I've ever seen messaging going "Don't be a boy" or "YOU'RE BAD."

Sure looks like that's in "I heard someone say that they heard..." territory, rather than actual direct experience.

Also worth noting, the main message from manosphere influencers is "YOU'RE BAD."
It's a brutal time for young men, and to be raising one. The primary message they now is get is "YOU'RE BAD" without any meaningful attempt to offer healthy pathways beyond "Don't be a boy."

Absolutely perfect time for right wing monsters to sweep in with shitty answers.
