Yeah, that's exactly how a microphone works.

We visited #Spitbank fort years ago (90s?).
IIRC, it had just been bought buy a guy with grand plans to do it up, and he was opening it to the public to raise a bit of cash.

It seems that it is now abandoned.

Such fun!

I'm getting reports that a firm is cold calling people "offering grants for renewables and quoting that MARTIN LEWIS had encouraged people to engage with the company."

The call is UTTER BOLLOCKS! This is not true. Don't trust them. Politely disengage and don't speak to them.

I remember the days when a mobile phone was the size of a medium handbag!

Hard to believe that something I once worked on is now a museum piece!

It is, surely, utter madness that (almost?) every council in the UK has standardised on exactly the same container (the wheelie bin) for waste/recycling, but *all* of them choose completely different colours to identify them?!

PSA if you’re getting chilly and starting to side-eye ads for plug-in mini wall heaters: DO NOT BUY. Even if they were designed safely the whole premise is asinine and dangerous.

Illegal and dangerous plug-in mini heaters for sale on online marketplaces - Which?

Guy Kewney all over again.

This such a perfect patriotic 🇬🇧 Fleet Street cock-up. It's one thing for a news outlet to be duped by a competent hoaxer. Excruciating, yes, but there's a fairly long history of such fuck ups. But to put out a statement SAYING you'd been hoaxed but you'd actually just emailed the wrong guy?
