In the midst of all of this crap news, I’d like to remind y’all that I had a cameo in one of Dav Pilkey’s comics, about a year ago. It’s about my work on Fredric Wertham. Check out some of the images!

I appreciate having my work cited in academic pubs, but this citation is priceless. 📚 #libcomix

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Goodnight, friends.

It's been a tough year already, and we're less than 3 weeks into it.

Breathe. Ask for help if you need it. Stop doomscrolling. Drink some water. Call a friend. Sing loudly. Rest. Give help as you're able.

We are all we have.

I love you.

It's not just the St. Paul Doubletree.
The Intercontinental in downtown St Paul is also shutting for now.
According to the Pioneer Press, they're both operated by an indigenous tribe, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.

FYI, ICE has been arresting Native Americans.

Oh man. It would be terrible if people started following Bovino around and playing Baby Shark. It would be terrible because he would hate it, and it would probably become his theme song, and it would make his Nazi in a long coat cosplay all the more ridiculous.

So no one should do that.

“Verbal assaults”

“Harmful to minors”

“Gender ideology”

“Domestic terrorism”

“Obstruction”

“Doxxing”

To ban speech, they’re simply redefining it as “not speech” and creating liability for speaking
"We've seen over a thousand percent increase in assaults on ICE officers, 8,000 verbal assaults on them...."

I told this to my boyfriend and they said, "I don't need to. I knew this would happen, because it's already happened."

Growing up, we had a family friend, Kiyoshi Kuromiya, a civil rights + ACT UP activist, who was born in the Japanese-American concentration camp Heart Mountain. What a soul!
RIP 💔
There is an area in the ICE detention center in Minneapolis designated specifically for American citizens. Contemplate that for a minute.

36-year-old Nicaraguan national Victor Manuel Diaz died in ICE custody on Jan. 14 at Camp East Montana in El Paso.

The Texas Nicaraguan Community on FB reports that his mom last heard from him on Jan. 6, when he told her he was planning to go to Minneapolis to start work in a restaurant. 1/3

This is a very good point. The November 2025 US National Security Strategy never mentions the Arctic at all. The idea that it's a genuine security priority for the Trump administration is not credible.

Why slap resistance stickers up in your community? Why does it even matter? One good reason is to counter the bad people doing it. The now defaced sticker below our free one is from the hate group boys that jump out of moving trucks in their khakis & polos.

I use it for finishing / garnishing / table salt for most anything. I mostly use Kosher salt for initial seasoning and cooking. If you like fresh tomatoes, I really love a good flaky smoked salt for them.

Maldon salt IS worth it. It's a perfect finishing salt with a beautiful crunch.

If you want a US-produced salt that's also quite good, I recommend Jacobsen's pure flake salt produced in Netarts Bay, Oregon.

I’ve been WAITING for this very question, Emily. And the answer is YES.

There is life before Maldon salt and life after Maldon salt.
Saeed, you’re a plain speaker and I’ve always wondered—is Maldon salt worth it?

Don't know what the end game here is (are they really going to try to search every phone? Or just on a power trip? etc) but if you think you may be interacting with federal agents in any way from here out it may also be time to reassess your security plans for your device(s).
