That a for-profit “community” was created by a historian and is promoted by historians is shameful. It’s hard to have faith in the discipline when we allow this

Before long, we won't be able to even mention the most horrific crime of our times, let alone try to stop it.
At Pride in London security came on stage to stop someone from waving a Palestine flag during Chaka Khan's performance on the main stage.

Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, reports that IDF soldiers and officers told the newspaper that they were "ordered to fire at unarmed crowds near food distribution sites in Gaza, even when no threat was present."
IDF soldiers have now themselves admitted they have been ordered to murder aid-seekers in Gaza.

Truly an atrocity built on atrocity.

Re: the big No Kings protests this weekend, remember that the corporate media, politicians, etc are obviously champing at the bit to be able to force a “good protestors vs bad protestors” narrative to discredit the anti-ICE/anti-genocide movement.

Do not let them. Embrace a diversity of tactics.

Lots of great genocide scholars have recognized this for a long time. Many haven’t. I don’t take comfort in being able to identify a genocide better than many genocide scholars. It raises questions about the importance of their work and history more broadly

Profound shame on Columbia University in particular.
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.
