"Leftwing bias"
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

"How many young people have had their minds poisoned by this professor's nasty, hateful, "post-colonialist" rage?"

Charles Mills' The Racial Contract is such a brilliant book. Reading it for the third time, and I'm discovering new things. It's not an easy read at all but so rewarding when you mine each gleaming insight anew.

Not long ago, when I raised a concern about a former college Fellow who is a regular visitor and a known sexual harasser, about whom others had also raised concerns, I was met with startling dismissiveness--until someone told the official concerned to respond properly and say the right things.
Another case of a long-term sexual harassment, bullying, and retaliation scandal going on for decades under the eyes of elite institutions, this time, Oxford, cos "genius" is an excuse for rape culture

The name is Miles Hewstone. He has many honorary positions

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

This itself, however, is a feature of contemporary white supremacy, including and especially its liberal wing: humming and hawing, both-sidesing, 'debating', 'pondering', 'complexity' trolling, 'nuance' mongering.
The evidence from Farage and the people that surround him screams that there is really no two sides to this story or slipper definitions - not that you’d be able to tell with just how much smoke is being blown around this.

Complete disgrace. They think that by pandering to these people, they can avoid being targeted. And that's the charitable explanation.
An absolute disgrace that @ox.ac.uk hosted this celebration of murdering a journalist.

A rogues gallery of the bastards who run our world with no principles or good intentions
Tim Cook, the head of Apple, is having a nice dinner with MBS, who regularly orders executions, including for tweets.

Apple hosts "a Saudi app that allows men to track the movement of their wives and daughters. In 2019, Mr. Cook said he would investigate the app, but it is still available today."

Academia is very very broken. Not least because of the high degrees of complicity with everything from sexual harassment to genocide.
When I think of all the incredibly talented, hardworking, and decent people I know who have had to leave academia for reasons they have no control over, and see shite like this, it does lean me towards the belief that huge chunks of academia are irredeemable.

It's also about serving the master so you can get your little share of white supremacist pie
To reiterate, this is about making life immeasurably more miserable and stressful for some of the most vulnerable people, in the almost certainly vain hope of winning over the votes of racists.

Anything more shabby and shameful is difficult to envisage.

It is troubling to me that some community representatives demand 'progressive' and 'inclusive' values towards themselves & their communities in the name of anti-racism but feel free to withhold those values in their own practice by hiding behind 'social conservatism'. Not on.
