The good news: the president has pardoned the turkey.

The bad news: two hours later the turkey was arrested for running a ponzi scheme and committing acts of gross sexual imposition.

So much enshittification that it's now hit knitting and crochet patterns.

Check everything you can before buying online. AI is just a probabilistic parrot not a skilled designer with a team of editors and testers.

The AI Invasion of Knitting and Crochet
AI has been infiltrating knitting and crochet spaces, filling them with useless patterns. Here’s why that’s happening and what can be done about it.

Shoppers can be thankful for discounts on turkey and stuffing this year. While overall grocery prices are up, this year's Thanksgiving meal should cost a bit less than last year's.
Give thanks for the discounts: The feast will cost a little less this year

Which universe would you prefer to live in?
You ever think about just how handily Star Trek has won the Star Wars/Star Trek war? Turns out making a lot of good content is really hard!

I'm casual flying, but it's pajama time
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

do you have any idea how much you have to piss somebody off to make them change their gauge
#Finland will begin to #Russia - proof its rail network, integrate with EU train infrastructure.

The Finnish government has announced the conversion of its rail network from Russian gauge (1,524 mm) to European standard (1,435 mm).

Regardless of sweet potato or pumpkin, especially canned, roast them until they're deeply caramelized. Throw the canned pumpkin on a parchment sheet and roast it for 40 minutes at 350.
And a pinch of cayenne.
Dry brined turkey is the only way to go.
Tell me your Thanksgiving Dinner Hot Takes.

I’ll start:
— Sweet Potato Pie is VASTLY superior to Pumpkin Pie

— The best turkey in the world is not as good as an average roast chicken.

— Stuffing should not actually be stuffed inside the bird for several reasons but mostly: Ew

I had a popular account with a valuable audience and my Twitter payout was $80 a month-ish, to the point where I disabled monetization instead of uploading my ID. Payouts are only material if you live in a developing country, so “guy in Nigeria posting right-wing Amerislop” has taken over the site.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Just remembering how one of the most important and widely read and dropped-with-maximally-damaging-timing "Biden is old and senile" pieces was reported by Nuzzi. It makes you think!
well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

I wonder how much of this is to avoid insider trading investigation
AOC on MTG retiring: "She's carefully timing her departure just 1-2 days after her pension kicks in and after making millions of dollars insider trading stocks for weapons manufacturers and others while in office."
