The PS2 truly is the best console ever because it is constantly becoming more powerful. Each time we say something "looks like a PS2 game" we're talking about a game of a higher fidelity than the last. What the PS2 is capable of in 2025 is so far beyond what it was capable of in 2003. That's amazing

If you're taking to the streets to protest today, know your rights.

"KNOW YOUR PROTEST RIGHTS
You don’t need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don’t need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you’re not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police.
If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries.
If you get stopped by the police, ask if you’re free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away.
If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don’t sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present.
If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you’ll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney — no matter your citizenship or immigration status."

Inspired by @minovskyarticle.bsky.social getting into MtG and enjoying bird cards, I've created this extremely loose and silly primer on all the color identities.

Color identity via birds:
Green: Giant flighess birds kick your enemies to death
White: Lots of tiny birds peck your enemies to death
Black: Feeding blood to your birds to make them better at violence
Blue: Surrounding yourself with birds while you play solitaire
Red: Strapping dynamite to your birds before you send them to your opponent
2 color:
Boros (WR): Your tiny birds have unionized under a large, charismatic leader
Selesnya (WG): Your birds have formed a commune focused on mutual aid and weightlifting

Golgari (BG): You are feeding small birds to your giant monster bird
Gruul (RG): You give your birds cocaine and hammers
Rakdos (RB): Juggalos have given your birds kerosene and matches
Orzhov (WB): You are feeding birds into a woodchipper in exchange for guns and money
Izzet (BR): Your birds have assembled a meth lab with zero safety precautions

I've seen so many meltdowns over someone posting "words / words, japan" that it's honestly very funny. "Literally only Ameriburgers and children watch dubs because they can't overcome the one inch barrier of subtitles" guys unaware that Japan has a decades long history of dubbing Hollywood flicks.

I don’t like the ephemeral way dubbing is treated, to the point where you have to justify their mere continued existence

This is not a matter of preference, taste, or even accessibility. Dubs are unique presentations of media with often rich histories. They require serious analyses and preservation

My vote would be that the upright state would be with the card text upright relative to the permanent's controller, and then you'd tap the permanent by turning it 90 degrees clockwise specifically, so that the card text is sideways and the copyright information is at the top of the card. [...]

To me, combining those rules would mean as long as the upright state of the permanent is agreed upon by all players, it doesn't matter which state that is, because tapping the permanent is a relative state indicated by turning the permanent 90 degrees from that upright state, whichever it is. The comp rules (400.5) don't prescribe a specific way to indicate a permanent is tapped, as long as that status "remains clear to all players." BUT the tournament rules (3.14) indicate that a permanent must be turned approx. 90 degrees to indicate it is tapped. [...]

How do we indicate whether the permanent is tapped? Normally Rooms go on their side because they're literally printed horizontally. But normally, with permanent cards printed vertically, you *turn* them sideways to indicate they're tapped. [...]

I'd still be able to pay the "printed" mana costs of the locked halves to unlock those halves' "printed" characteristics. ("Printed" in quotes because it's a token copy, but per 709.4 it'd still inherit those characteristics from the card it's copying) But that brings me to the next question [...]
